Hello to everyone. I hope someone can give me input . I received an RFE from my filing of I-751 filing removal of conditions. I have to submit the additional documents until Nov 3 this year. I would like to know if I can apply for Citizenship during this process since Ir reached 3 years from July 29, 2018 married to US Citizen spouse. Does anyone have an idea or experience regarding this ? Or do I need to finish submitting my RFE and wait for my green card approved and from there apply for citizenship?

I appreciated any inputs. Thank you so much!

You can file the n-400 but you’ll still need to the respond to the RFE as well

Hi,

Thank you so much for you reply.  I saw your timeline while you're waiting for your green card approval, you have 90 day window opened, and filed for citizenship? what is "90 day window Open mean"?  Won't I have any problem submitting my Citizenship application as long I gave my RFE?

Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you so much for your help!

The 90 day window is the 90 days prior to the 3 year anniversary of the green card.  For example the issue date on my green card is 11/1/15.

Three years would be 11/1/18, but my eligibility window for citizenship application opens up 90 days prior on 8/3/18.

You won’t have a problem with applying for citizenship while your ROC and RFE is pending, but note you won’t be able to get citizenship until after your ROC is approved.  So I would say apply for citizenship but make sure you complete the RFE as soon as possible too.

Hi CJKylie,

Thank you so much for the information. You know what were closed my green card was issued 7/24/15 and my three years anniversary was  7/29/18. I didn't know there is such "90 day Open Window" I missed it. But I will do my RFE soon and apply for citizenship. Thank you very much for your input!
