Hello,

Me and my wife are currently in the CR1 process. Last week we submitted all of our documents to the NVC ( we had a lawyer prepare them for us, so I doubt we will have any issues or delays. The embassy where she will be having her interview is in Athens, Greece, and I have heard that Athens can be quicker than other embassies. How long do you think it will be from Submission ( Last week) until we have an interview date and when we finally get the interview. Thanks!

It appears that, according to VisaJourney members, NVC is taking about 120 days to process CR-1/IR-1s.  The it will take time for the case to sent to the embassy, as well as processing time to assign an interview date...On average, that has been a month or so.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

One more thing.  Having used an attorney does not guarantee a smooth ride through NVC.  Our case was received at NVC on Oct 11, 2016.  We received a checklist on Jan 13, 2017 from NVC for "missing" paperwork which our attorney "said" he had sent.  We received a case complete on April 10th.......good luck.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. The package was received from USCIS on the 29th of June, and then was given a case number on the 27 of July. We submitted everything the week of August 6th. NVC told me ( I just called) that it would take 2-3 weeks to hear back and if everything was ok they would close our case. It will probably end up being about 2 months in total at NVC for us. Im hoping you are right about that 1 month number for interview. Yeah I trust our lawyer, she is incredibly thorough and got us through USCIS without an RFE and in about 6 months from submission to approval, but we shall say. Thanks for the input!
