if i where you...i'd leave it at that. it could potentially delay your N-400 for no reason. I know it is an inconvenience, but you could be a USC soon after removing conditions

you only have about 30 days in between both interviews....is there a major reason to just have one interview? i have no idea if it will actually delay your interview for n-400, but if it ain't broken, why fix it? just my 2 cents. good luck

i knew this was coming, but unfortunately...USCIS is not so accommodating to our schedule. I had to pick up my wife at Atlanta and get her biometrics, pretty soon after.  Work wasn't pleased either, but in your case...look at it like this....do you prefer to wait several months for another interview date and possible oath ceremony in 2019 or get it over with and be a USC as soon as you can be w/o delays. August 22nd is not even 10 days away and USCIS doesn't work that fast to accommodate the interview for N-400 forward or the I-751 to a later date. We are talking about the government.

You can ask at the Aug 22 interview and if the officer interviewing you has the training/clearance to carry out the citizenship interview why not? it sounds simple and straightforward but it is not. They are separate applications afterall. He may require a supervisor's view on it and if you're lucky he gets the go ahead. Otherwise you return 1 month later.

I would go with what everyone is saying. Follow the process as they've prescribed it, or you may risk your case falling into the cracks, which for USCIS can be months.

I personally had to travel 5 hours and spent north of $300 on travel, transportation and accommodate, for just one day, in order to attend my interview. They wanted me to redo it again for the oath, and I was ready although it fell on my first week of classes. Thankfully my oath was rescheduled locally, for the same day.

Citizenship Journey:

(Month 1)-   N-400 sent: 12/20/17

(Month 2)-   Fingerprints: 01/11/18

(Month 8)-   Interview: 07/30/18

(Month 9)-   Oath Ceremony: 08/23/18

Oh I see. Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to ask in that case. I misread the original prompt, I thought that you wanted to send-in the letter and ask for it to be rescheduled, as opposed to asking the IO during your first interview.

I have been between two offices: Detroit, Michigan and Columbus, Ohio.

My case was a bit different. I applied through a 5 green card. During my application process I lived in Michigan due to work because my company had assigned me to a project there. But a few weeks/months after my N-400  application I had to move Ohio (my original hometown), I had actually mentioned that this would happen on my application. I updated my address on the application after the move, but I guess that USCIS never saw it. So they still scheduled my citizenship interview for Detroit. They asked for a Michigan ID during the interview, which I obviously didn't have (i.e. I had an Ohio ID). But she was understanding, and after explaining she allowed me to proceed with my citizenship interview and I was approved on the spot. She had told me that I could only do the interview in Detroit and that the Oath would have to be scheduled in Columbus. They mistakenly scheduled my oath for Detroit again despite what the IO had told me. Upon receiving the date I had started looking hotels, bus ticket etc... because of experiences I've heard about rescheduling being no-nos. Thankfully about a week after, they seemed to have realized. They descheduled my Detroit oath, transferred my case to Ohio and gave me a new oath ceremony (all in one day) for the same day and time as the old one.

OP,

Go to your ROC interview and when there, let them know that you got a date for N400 as well and inquire if they can do it in one sitting. Worse they can tell you is no but it does not hurt to ask.
