WILL A# CHANGE?

HI,

 

My friend's parents got green card 10 years ago, but they abandoned green card. By that time, they just wanted to stay in their country. Now they are getting old, they want to live with their only child here. So they are reapply green card now through AOS. They came here as visitor. 

 

So couple questions:

1. In the form, they asked for their A #, should they put down their old A # there?

2.After he gets approved for AOS, Will he get a new A#? 

2.The father is 83 year old right now, when apply for AOS, is he only need to pay $1,140, do we need to put additional memo in the check saying he is waived for $85 biometric fee due to his age?

Use the same A# from before, if will help identify who he is.

No, he will keep using the same A#.

The form will indicate if the waiver can be waived.  Form I-485 provides that applicants over the age of 79 are not required to submit biometrics or pay the biometrics services fee.
