Both the petitioner and co-sponsor must complete an I-864.  You have to send evidence for most recent tax year filing only.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

so you didnt have any reporting income in Japan? as i understand it...you need to file tax returns every year. yes, the last year should be sufficient. when we did the k-1 we showed the last 3, but only the last return was of any interest

Thanks for the responses. Do I need to submit the I-864 to the NVS prior to the interview? I was unaware of this and thought my fiancé would just need a copy with her during the interview.

I did, but it was only like $22,000

I did, but it was only like $22,000

you would still have to file taxes for that year though

Do I need to submit the I-864 to the NVC prior to the interview? I was unaware of this and thought my fiancé would just need a copy with her during the interview.

 

your fiance need the affidavit of support at the interview. Usually I-134 fro sponsor and cosponsor. you don't send anything to NVC

Ok, thanks. I’ve been a bit confused on the process. So, all of the packet 3 documents don’t need to be sent anywhere, she just needs to bring them with her to the interview?
