Maximum time until visa in hand after NOA2?

We've received the approved NOA2, so what's the average maximum time now until my fiancé has the visa in his passport? NOA2 date was August 4th and he's in the UK.

We want to have a December 8th wedding and we want to set the date now...I know there will always be a risk doing that but wanna know exactly how much of a risk 🙂

Whilst interview appointments are usually readily available at the London embassy, there is no guarantee that he will be approved on the spot and he may or may not go through a period of administrative processing that can take weeks, months or even years (in very rare cases). I wouldn't plan anything regarding the wedding, pay any deposits, etc until the visa is in hand.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I know it can be a really long process worst case scenario, but I'm willing to take a risk, so I'm more looking for the AVERAGE amount of time between NOA2 and issue of visa (specifically at London embassy) because I'm struggling to find this info clearly written anywhere.

Even the average is not much use. Every single case is different. You can search the timelines on this site and you can narrow down the search for K-1s in London but what good is the average? We don't know your fiancé and his background, medical history, etc. There are all sorts of reasons for denial or delay in approval.

Here's some timelines. Visas are delivered 7-10 days after interview if your medical is there on your interview date. Longer if not there. Leave two weeks between medical and Interview if you want to make sure the medical arrives at the embassy.
