Hi everyone!

My fiancé will have his interview in less than 2 weeks. He has compiled all the documents needed for the interview such as relationship of evidence, affidavit of support and supporting documents, copies of the other required documents..etc. We just want to know in what ORDER he will be required to hand them over (so that he can organize them effectively).

Thanks Y'all,

Nadia from Texas

They will give you a checklist on how you should arrange it, on the interview day. I have mine here. I think the list should be basically the same, just maybe a bit different. For K-1, the affidavit of support will be I-134

I can only tell you that the email that we received from my wife's consulate (CR-1 visa/Taiwan) specifically listed the order they wanted.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

He'll be asked to turn in the affidavit of support and supporting documents at a desk soon after he enters the consulate. Then he'll be asked to sit and wait for the interview. He can try to present the CO with additional relationship evidence, but they most likely won't look at more than a few photos.

The order doesn't really matter, they will let him know exactly what they need from him at each step.

You need to email the consulate asking for the interview date. Provide both of your names and case number.

Hi thanks!

According to the email the embassy sent us, on the interview date we just have to pay that $265 visa fee. The medical should be done a couple weeks prior to that, my fiancé had to pay about $300 plus travel expenses (such as taxi cab rides, lunch, snacks at the café) as the medical was in the capital (Rabat), was a whole day event and he had go to several clinics for each appointment.

Hi,

As RJandHamid mentioned, you will need to email the consulate. Back in July, we were wondering this too so we asked about it on visajourney and received the same advice from everyone - to email the consulate frequently. After one week of receiving the NVC, we began emailing the consulate a couple times a week, 2 weeks later we got the interview letter in response to one of the emails. So it was a total of 3 weeks for us from the time we received the NVC letter to the time the consulate sent us the interview email. Goodluck!

Just try really hard to not hold a grudge or send a snarky email or anything else. Casa is hard enough as it is.

I'd suggest your fiance go home, they will likely be closed tomorrow. My husband is off all week for the holidays and thinks they will be too.

Send some nice emails that there was a miscommunication and when can they reschedule. Hopefully it will be soon.

I'm not sure exactly when the case was transferred but I would estimate about a week from the time the NVC emailed us with the case number. It shouldn't take more than a month. Have you been emailing the embassy?
