Hello,

I have encountered a problem when trying to pay for the AOS fee. When i submit all of my information including banking info I get an error that reads:

DB error occured rolling back: Service Fee 000017065945 has an active payment. This payment cancelled.

What would be the next step?

Thanks,

It sounds like the fee was already paid.  Maybe you hit the payment button twice, or maybe you refreshed the page after submitting the info. Look for your receipt of payment.

Thank you for your response.

Let me give you a little more context as it is a little complicated.

This case was started in 2009 and father was petitioning for my mother. He lost his job and fell into alcoholism and could not proceed with the case.

I starting the process of petitioning for my mother and we noticed that  it appears that my fathers case is still active so I attempted to pay the fee and that's the error I got. I just checked the NVC website and it shows receipts for both the AOS and the IV fees from 2009.

Could it be that it was too long ago and the case is dead? I emailed the NVC regarding the status of the case and they direct me to pay the fees.

I dont know if i should spend more time on this or begin the petitioning process myself.

Sorry if this is confusing as I am still trying to piece everything together. Attached are the receipts and email that i received from the NVC.

Sincerely,

Hector Gutierrez

Hmmm, I'm not sure then. I can only guess that the smaller fee still stands as paid, is that the one giving you the message? It says they will send an invoice to the agent, it's been too long for me to remember who that refers to. Sorry I'm not much help.

hi

you are guessing right, the case has been considered abandoned. even if it looks like it's open

the case was considered abandoned after your dad didn't continue the case after a year

besides you can't continue it anyway. you father's petition needs his affidavit of support, he is the one filing for that case

start your own petition and file for your mom

Hi Ale,

So I emailed the NVC just to see if they could send me a new invoice with a current date and they did. I went to pay again just to see if the NVC would take a payment and I received the same error. I then called the NVC and they said that there are occasional error's with payment submissions. They told me to wait a few days and it should be fixed. It has been 2 weeks now and I am still receiving the error. I am going to have my father call and do what you have suggested.

Thanks for the help.

Hi H,

Any update on the situation? I'm running across the same error "An error occurred while submitting your payment. Please try again later. DB error occured rolling back: Service Fee 000016348837 has an active payment. This payment cancelled."

I'm having the same issue.

"An error occurred while submitting your payment. Please try again later. DB error occurred rolling back: Service Fee 000024137446 has an active payment. This payment cancelled".

The error shown above happens every time i try to make a payment. I have tried with different browsers (Opera, Chrome, Microsoft edge, mozilla firefox), i have sent cashier check, personal check and everything you can do to pay. They always send it back. I mailed them to two different addresses and no luck. trying to call they just tells you to try later, i have been dealing with this for 6 months already. don't know what else to do at this point. My brother's case s not abandoned since we used to call every two months to the NVC. Trying to call now and they won't even pick up the phone.

Anyone with a solution for this problem yet???? it would be greatly appreciated.
