I got an email a few days ago from National Visa Center stating that the K1 petition for my fiancee is being forwarded to Islamabad, Pakistan for processing.

When I check the visa center website it says:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://nvc.state.gov/interview

Should I now ask my fiancee to go for the medical exam or should she wait for a phone call from the Embassy?

Thanks for the help in advance.

My case is transferred to Islamabad embassy as well. We have the same case. My visa applicataion says "ready" just like yours. I already filed the DS-160. However it has been over a month I did not receive any information from the Islamabad embassy. I don't know if I should go ahead and schedule the medical and interview or should I wait to be contacted. Plz let me know what you will be doing next thanks

Hi Urva,

I called the NVC center again and they told me to call the embassy in PK.  Embassy says they dont take any calls, you need to fill out a form.  That is no help.  Then I called the number from the ustraveldocs.com website and a lady told me that my fiancee needs to wait two months to hear from the embassy.  I really dont believe that she was correct.  My fiancee already had her medical done this week.  I have asked her to take a chance and schedule an interview with the embassy.

I will let you know how that goes.

Thanks for all the help everyone,  was wondering how long to get case number with NVC. Representative I spoke with today said 6-8 weeks for them to receive and another 6-8 weeks to send to Islamabad....I’m just hoping all that was lies 😅😅😅😅
