MY HUSBAND WENT TO HIS 2ND INTERVIEW ON JULY 11TH 2018 AND HIS CASE WAS PUT UNDER ADMINISTRIVE PROCESSING. I AM WONDERING HOW LONG DOES THIS PROCESS USUALLY TAKE WITH THE U.S. EMBASSY IN GUATEMALA?

Hello!

No need for caps lock.

AP is issued for every case. No one knows how long it will last.

Good luck!

Did the interviewer said anything after the interview? Did they keep his passport? Did the interviewer pass any kind of letter/notice after the interview?

It states that they try to resolve most cases within 60 days. I'm wondering if it can surpass it. The I-601A was approved. I am not sure why it's taking so long.

I am not experienced in surpassing/expediting AP. I sincerely think it cannot be done.

"Administrative Processing –The consul may advise you that additional processing is necessary to determine your eligibility for a visa. Many factors can determine these additional checks. In some cases, we may require more information from you, the applicant. Most of these administrative processes are resolved within 60 days of the interview, but the time may vary depending on the individual circumstances of each case. If your case is in administrative processing, you can track the status at ceac.state.gov, the same site where you filled out the application form."

They only stated that if they needed anymore documents of information that they would reach out to us. They kept his passport and no letter was given after the interview. A his initial interview they requested court and police records of Guatemala even though he left Guatemala before the age of 16.

Usually if they kept the passport, it always be a good sign. However, no one can advise you on how long AP will be. It can take few days, weeks, months and sometimes even years. You can't surpass AP. When they said they trying to resolve most cases in 60 days, it just mean that, you can start contact them to ask about the status of your case after 60 days (if you contact them before that, they might not even entertain your query).
