We interviewed at Frankfurt last October.  After the interview if they asked you to submit the information like past email addresses, social media accounts and stuff like that, then you should go into AP after that point. We interviewed and CEAC showed refused, a day later the embassy asked us to provide that information via email, and then a day after we sent it our case changed to AP.

No. she had to send in other documents in addition to DS5535.  Our ceac still shows refused but the embassy confirmed that she is in AP via email..

My spouse (iranian ctzn) was interviewed end of June in yerevan, was put on AP. Interview took about 3 min. The officer requested more documents to be submitted.

we called the embassy 1 month after the interview and were told to mail the missing documents along with the passport.

The same day they received the documents they released the passport.

I have been following this group for a while and finally decided to join🙏

Hi what number did you use ? Also, what exactly did you ask about ? Please let me know. I want to try this. Thanks !

Nothing new that I did not already know; but they provided details that shows they actually contacted the embassy and someone looked at the case. I guess the message served as a poking device :D

I also wrote all the supreme court justices asking them to re-consider the waiver system! Dunno if they actually read my mail; but nothing to lose by trying!

Nice okay, and yes never hurts to try. Also  about how long did it take from when you sent the letters out to when you got a response?

Backlog is slowly being cleared. I know it sucks, but looks like people who are interviewing now have a decent shot at bypassing AP altogether. July numbers for Iran are almost 10X numbers for June. August is looking to be even better. We will know around Sept 25.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html

They implemented an automated pre-screening mechanism (search my posts) and looks like that is having a meaningful impact. Everyday there are visas being issued with no AP, same week. Just that since all this is very recent, I am having a hard time getting statistics around what percentage, etc. Initially, I only saw visas for people who interviewed in June 2019, but now a days they are calling in people who interviewed 2018. I have hope this trend continues. I am really looking to hear from people who have interviewed within the last month or so.

My sisters husband interviewed mid July 2019 in Malaysia, 6 weeks in AP and then got the visa issued.

I know this might be a stupid question, but do you guys think the embassy you interview at matters? I am in a group that shares information about abu dhabi embassy and they are post pictures of their visas everyday. Unfortunately no other groups seem to be as forth coming. So do we know if certain embassies approve visas more frequently than others? All my research says embassy has no control over the process, but with things changing so recently, maybe some embassies simply have not caught up with the new process yet?

Don't know, but as of July and August here in Malaysia many families who have been AP 4-11 months have been getting their visas.

My case changes from mailed/available to and mailed or available today am 2017 December interviewer in Nairobi embassy kenya. Somali nationality

I’m following 3 cases from Riyadh embassy and all 3 changed from “/“ to “or” on September 7.

Two cases were contacted to update and submit police clearance and medical report. The third case, which is my wife’s, still waiting for the call or email.

The difference between my wife’s case and the other two cases is my wife’s is a CR1 and the other two are IR1.
