Okay!

The response my senator received from the Riyadh embassy was way more professional and organized than the ones I receive, if I get any replies. Though, the point across is the same, the case is under AP and she’ll be contacted when it’s over!!

If you don’t mind, how many times did the senator contact the embassy? Was it like an every month type of thing or just once?

This is the first time he contact this senator , he used to live in other stat before

Hello everyone,

I am Syrian, GC holder and my wife is Syrian living in Canada (has Canadian PR). My wife immigrant visa interview was in October 20th, 2018 and since that time her case being placed under AP. Today and almost after 9 months, the consulate contacted her requesting a new medical exam and proof of her Canadian status.

Does anyone know, after we send them the new medical exam, for how long it will take them to issue the visa?

We are so excited about this update but at the same time we are worry if they need more time to process the new docs. Please advise..thanks

The time needed for an embassy to process things like medical exams and other documents varies, but typically not more than a few weeks. Congrats!  Our interview was on 31 October 2018... hopefully we are right behind you.

NOA1: 26 July 2017

NOA2: 2 February 2018

NVC Received: 13 February 2018

NVC Case # Assigned: 22 February 2018

NVC Left: 27 February 2018

Consulate Received: 1 March 2018

Packet 3 Received: 10 March 2018

Packet 3 Sent: 8 October 2018 (we delayed intentionally)

Interview: 31 October 2018

Currently in AP!!! :(

Congrats! What embassy did you interview at? Were you getting CEAC updates along the way?

Interview was in Montreal, we had four to five updates right after the interview and then they stopped on feb 2019 until I sent them an inquiry on August 1st where they updated it. Later on August 15th they updated the case with no further inquiries or emails then Yesterday aug22 they updated again and after 2 or 3 hours they sent an email requesting a new medical exam and proof of Canadian status. Now we worry about how long will take further to issue the visa.

And Iran had 8 K1 fiance visas issued in July...which is not a whole lot but a big jump up from 0 or 1 a month which has been the case since the beginning of the travel ban
