What does updating the CEAC status mean ?? Does it mean they are really working on your case and checking and processing it or what ??

No one really knows anything specific. The process varies with each embassy. But generally we have seen some people have a lot of CEAC updates right around the time when a visa decision was made.

NOA1: 26 July 2017

NOA2: 2 February 2018

NVC Received: 13 February 2018

NVC Case # Assigned: 22 February 2018

NVC Left: 27 February 2018

Consulate Received: 1 March 2018

Packet 3 Received: 10 March 2018

Packet 3 Sent: 8 October 2018 (we delayed intentionally)

Interview: 31 October 2018

Currently in AP!!! :(

So what does the embassy have to do with the updates if it’s the DOS in Washington DC who is Processing your visa ?? Some circles are missing that’s what feel

CEAC is used by the entire Department of State, which includes the embassies. Even cases not under the travel ban get unknown updates in CEAC. It's all we've got just like anyone else.

Hi Guys

Allow me to share some thoughts , my Immigration Visa Is IR1 ,my case also updated last Thursday ,August 15th , I think they refresh the system that way most of cases updated in the same times , In my opinion the  the whole process of the AP is not only depends on the backlog or security background check in Washington ,DC , It  also depends on the Embassy and sometimes on the consular who is handling your case .

One of my friend got his immigration visa FX1 , last month , his interview was same date of mine August 9th 2018 , but location is different , my interview was in Abu Dhabi and his interview in Kuwait .

We are both Syrian , same age , almost same level of education, and we  both have been living out of Syria for  long time ... so I think period of time for security background check ,should be the same , and my embassy suppose to release my visa as well ,However. still under AP.

Yeah apparently every case is different and embassies have a hand in processing visas

It seems like the government is fighting back on Curtis Morrison's petition more this time than before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hIUL0PZLk0JzkufmYL1O5DTD3bQCAOFG/view

This is the opposition they filed last Friday. They didn't file an opposition like this on his case before (Mosleh v. Pompeo) in where everyone got their waivers approved.

same for me i did my interview at Abu dhabi in the same day my friend did his at Amman. they asked us both to submit the ds5534 he got his visa after 1 month while i am still in Ap since last year.

first i beilve abu dhabi embassy is overloaded and slow not like jordan. i was thinking to ask to move my case to jordan but i think it may cause more delay.

second my case was not updated not even once unless i send an email and last 3 emails (1 each month) were ignored. and it was not updated on 15Aug.
