Happy to inform  everyone  in this forum/ supporting group  that I received an  email  this morning from the embassy in Kuala Lumpur AP completed, my wife (Syrian  citizen) can redo her medical exam and drop her passport. Her interview  was conducted in March of this year. I would  like to thank everyone for the valuable information and please  don't give up, I believe it's getting better.

Congraaats. Happy for your guys; but it is strange they are asking to redo the medical exam though it was done less than a year ago! Did you have to do the exam long time ago? I know that it is good for a year.

So glad to have found this forum. I applied for my husband in April of 2016 and he got his interview in October 2017 and have been on AP since. Last update was on feb.28 2019. we are from Yemen and filing through Djibouti. Is anyone else stuck in AP for that long?

hey, i was talking with the lawyer today (curtis), he said there is still spaces in the 8th August lawsuit, My case is one of his cases, contact him soon, he is very decent lawyer.

And good Luck guys

Its such a travesty. The only thing this travel ban has truly done is made a few very smart lawyers very very rich. At 5K a pop, this case has made him 150K. I know another lawyer who's done at least a 100 cases. Thats 500K right there. Add the salaries the government is paying to fight hundreds (if not thousands) of mandamus lawsuits, just the financial aspect of this stupidity is appalling.

What gets ignored is the toll this takes on people desperate to unit with their spouses and kids. I read about a US Citizen yemeni truck driver who sold his house to get his wife and kids here. They gave the kids visas but wife had to stay back for "AP". It will take him a lifetime to rebuild what he has lost.

I cannot agree more. I personally have spent so much because of this stupid ban. Instead of putting this money for a down payment for a house, I have to change all of my plans and life!

a 100 cases? did he/she win most? what is the name of this lawyer?

I know and agree but do we have any other option?!!

at least some lawyers are joining some cases to break down the price so instead of paying 15k we are paying 5k

nothing for free, but if you need to blame something we need to blame the ban its self which destroyed our plans

I promise I will. It is too early for me to have any updates, but based on data I got from multiple attorneys when you file the government ignores it until literally day 59, and then contacts your lawyer and asks for additional time (which they advise you accept), and then issues the visa in like 2 weeks! Let me rephrase: they try to delay it AGAIN as much as they can, until they cannot anymore. But 2 weeks is the amount of time they need to process a visa...

So true. They are clueless. They don even know the extent of their power. Apparently if one waits 1 yr in ap the congressman can contact state dept hq directly. But they almost never do it: their staff just don know. Thats jus one example.

Hello everyone,

I wonder if any of you in the group heard from this fella (Pooch 1986) about his Mandamus. He filed it more than two months ago and then disappeared! Probably he/she got the visa and got to excited and forgot about us? :(
