Bashar got a CR1/IR1. I am not sure which one but they were married.

I checked the numbers for January report yesterday. Very disappointing :(

Especially that we all were having big hopes on Jan.

Hi Mohammad,

I'm a CPA accountant and tax consultant.. if you are going to apply for ITIN for your wife then you will have to file the w-7 first then send your 1040 after you get the ITIN card.
the process might take up to four months.
Best of luck.

Hi Adam,

Thank you very much for your help. I sent the application a week ago. I hope they will accept it. I know they are a bit picky on the passport part; I certified a photocopy and translated it and attached them to the application. I think I will request extension if I do not get the ITIN by mid April. If I file separate, I will end up paying more than 3k instead of receiving a bit below 3k when filing joint.

I guess it is peak time now and the application might take longer than the 8 weeks they mentioned in the IRS website.

Regards

I’ve  heard people  get denied because their case was full of mistakes or sloppy not handled in a good way  and that give  the embassy  an excuse to deny people.  My interview will be on March 17 I’ll keep you all posted on everything I went through and I’ll do my best to give everything in great details  hopefully I can get and give you a clear answer because my case was handled by a really good lawyer so we will know if doing things the right professional way helps or it’s just a cut ban no matter how good or bad our cases. wish me luck !

Best of luck my friend! I am glad that you will keep us posted! Has your lawyer already started putting together a waiver packet? Our lawyer wants us to put together one and to email it to the embassy a week before the interview. I have already started working on a letter to request a travel ban waiver.

Hi,

I did that for my husband before he had his interview last year but it was pointless. Still he was place in Administrative Processing, regardless all what I did to file the taxes as married filling jointly, and albums, photos, receipts, etc,etc,etc.... Filling taxes that way was a total nightmare I do not wish anyone go through. My lawyer suggested do it that way but I wish I didn't listen to him. It was a nightmare that took a year to get solved. I sent everything, stamped original photocopy at the U.S Embassy, etc.... I had to call multiple times to the IRS, they always would tell me a different story every time I called, at the end i went to the IRS office in my city myself, they told me even in their website is NOT clear, they were not accepting people outside the country for the ITIN number. I was in shocked! At the end, of course, they rejected my husband ITIN number, I continue my battle and they finally process the taxes, without his number. It wasn't easy. I called them countless times, wrote letters, contacted my city council and everything. The biggest problem also was to file the taxes without the ITIN number in my state. Even the IRS, after almost a year process my taxes without his number, the state didn't want to process it. I tried to do it as single but since I filed first as married, I couldn't do it. It was a total nightmare. This year I filed as single and took me 1 week.

I dont understand why people are making these waiver packets. The dos has already made a determination that spouses and fiancee's qualify for a waiver just need dos approval for sao. Certain consultar officers refuse to even take this packet and people are spending so much money on it. Some officers take it but its not really necessary unless you are requesting a medical expedite and even that is usually ignored.

When most embassies say we dont need a waiver packet what they mean is out of the 3 criteria for waiver you already meet undue hardship and national interest. Now we have ti wait for Washington to say you are not a threat. You could write a 1000 page waiver telling them you are not a threat and all youd be doing is killing trees for no reason.

Well all I can say is that I am doing everything within my power to bring my husband to the United States. Sorry that you feel that it is pointless and maybe it is- but I would rather do something than nothing. I don't see the harm in writing out reasons why my husband should be able to pass the ban (and don't worry I won't kill a tree with just 2-3 pages). We plan to email to the embassy the week before the interview- we realize that they most likely will not take any extra documents in the actual interview.

I really look to this group as a place to get "support" not be made further depressed and torn down.

Really sorry if this depresses you. Didnt mean it that way. Im in the same predicament as you so it would be counterproductive.

Im just stating facts. Its great you are writing a Letter. Cant hurt. But there are people who are spending thousands of dollars on these packets which i believe are pointless.

Unless there is a genuine medical condition i have not yet seen any evidence of these waiver letters helping. But id be glad to be corrected.

Hello everyone

First of all may God be with you all in this long journey

My husband has a green card and he applied for a F2A visa on behalf of me. It has been a long journey almost three years. My interview was on August 2018. I was refused because I am syrian . So I applied for a waiver and I am still waiting

Do you know how many times should my case be updated before I know the result ??? Do you have any advice for me??

Oh Good ness!

I wonder if the same issues apply to CA :(
Last year I filed married separately and included my wife's name and wrote "Need to Request ITIN" when it asks for SSN!
I thought why not give it a shot this time and try to save more than 5k :(

It seems I might face the same issue. I read somewhere that we can amend the filing as far back as three years.

We shall see what the IRS respond to my application. Otherwise, I might request an extension this year with the hope that by Sept or Oct. my wife will have got her visa by then!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Anyone have info on the 2 K1 visas given to Iranian for jan 2019? Such as How long in AP or any circumstances?

The last few months have been none given or only 1, so I was excited to see 2 for the month of Jan. Hope this trends starts to pick up.

any one knows how long will take the congressman office to give you an answer for an inquiry you asked them to do it in your behalf ??!!

I would like to know too coz I sent them the required form on 02 Feb and received a letter from them on 06 Feb saying that they sent an inquiry to the embassy and will get back to me when they have the answer.

I’m still waiting from them although the date of my case was updated.
