I'm from Nigeria. My wife's interview is after Feb 21. I understand from people it will be denied based on 212f (president proclamation) but with an option to apply for a waiver unless the travel ban is lifted. What happens if the ban is not lifted and the waiver is not approved? Will it result in a fresh application?

My wife is from a banned country and interviewed in November and was refused under 212f. She was automatically considered for a waiver and we got an email exactly 10 days later asking for the passport to issue the visa. She is here with me now. So there is definitely light at the end but might add up to a month more processing overall now that the new automated screening system is in place. Good luck!

Oh, no. I will share if there's any progress. I benefit a lot from this community and anything I have to share to help others, I will share. What I meant by "quiet " was that I won't be too worried about whether they will process my petition.ย  Especially now that you have told me they kept processing last time the other countries were banned. I am relieved.ย

Hi, my fiance is also from Nigeria. i was just about to file for her before i received this news of Nigeria being on the new ban list. Iย will still file for my fiance and curious if the Nigerian consulate is up to speed on how to process the immigrant visa with the new process starting February 22nd.ย

I was wondering if Iย send in the fiance visa paperwork today and it is received bu USCIS before the ban takes effect, would it make a difference than sending it after the date the ban goes into effect.ย

The earlier you send it, the better.ย  The law is not retroactive. People say everything received before the 22nd will be processed. And I want to believe it would apply here. I think it's true uscis will keep processing what they receive. And, who knows,ย  the ban may be lifted soon. You would be better off and way ahead of someone who waited for the lifting of the ban to file. I wish you the best, my friend.ย

Congrats! Iโ€™m glad to hear this? Please did you involve any lawyer to help with the waiver or did you apply for it before she went for the interview?ย

My husband's interview is a day before the ban starts, I am so worried, scared but hopeful. What are our chances of him getting his visa because the interview was a day before the ban.

Hello everyone, I would like to make this thread as a support group to those impacted by the Travel Ban issued by Trump. PLEASE, if you are not in this category, no need to comment here because we do not need any negative energy! A lot of us are US citizens who cannot even bring our spouses! We do not need to be lectured about how good such a ban can be!ย

ย

If you are affected by this ban, feel free to ask anything!ย

My husband and I are affected. He is Nigerian and we've beenwaiting 9 months and now this ban. So disappointed.ย ย

sorry guys that you have to go through this. Hopefully it is much less painful now that they have an automated system to process the waivers. Recently, citizens of the banned countries have been receiving a lot more visas

that the past due to an auto system that process the waivers. So generally speaking, expect a 3-6 month delay in addition to the whole process. Good luck

Please can I have a private chat with you concerning this issue of ban and the waiver . I will be happy if my request is granted just me a message please.

He sent for the interview on Thursday, he was approved and issued the visa on friday, the passport is currently showing available for pickup today so he will be picking it up tomorrow morning. After the interview, my husband asked the CO if the ban will be affecting our visa and he said No.
