Good afternoon everyone,

any idea how long does it take for the embassy in Riyadh to contact after submitting police clearance and medical?

My cousin was asked to submit the medical and police clearance on September 4th. He received updates on the 7th, 8th, 10th, 12, and 22 of September. But was never asked to send his wife’s passport!!!

Okay so sorry I've been a bit busy and haven't been on here for a while. But here are the updates for our case (K-1):

The embassy (Riyadh) had emailed her to redo medical and send in passport. So we did all that and the passport and medical is currently at the embassy already.

2-Oct-2019: Received CEAC Status Update. BUT, the heading changed from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Non-Immigrant Visa Application" and the case created date changed to 2-Oct-2019.

The previous CEAC Status Update was like all the others, it had "Immigrant Visa Application" and a case created date of several months ago.

I don't recall coming across this type of thing before with anyone else on here. Does anyone know what this means? Should we be worried? Or is this a good sign?

Hello everyone,

I do know if this happened with anyone before :(

The embassy sent us an email a couple of days ago asking us to renew my wife's passport and send them a copy of the new one and then 3 minutes later they tried to recall the email!!!

My wife has an appointment on 26th of oct. and her passport will need renewal after Nov. 11th (when it becomes valid for less than 6 months).

What do you think? do you think they realized that no need to renew and they tried to recall the message?

I emailed them to verify and provided the details of the expiration date and they have not answered yet. if we renew the passport, she might end up on AP again :(

We too were asked to submit police clearance and medical so I emailed asking about the passport and they replied saying mail it too.

This often happens before a K-1 visa is issued.  Best of luck.

No

this is the response I always get

Greetings from the US Embassy in Djibouti and thank you kindly for your message. Per our records, the visa was refused appropriately pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 9645. However, the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti has recommended that this case be considered for a waiver to the proclamation. As such, the case is currently undergoing routine administrative processing. While we have no timeframe on how long that administrative processing will take to be completed, we will update the petitioner and visa applicant as soon as we can move forward with further adjudication.

Don’t worry!

When the embassy asked us to send the passport and new medical, I asked them if we should renew the passport because it’s expiring in 5 months. They told me not to renew it and it’s fine to just send it.

I did mention towards the end of the email, though, that my wife plans to fly out within less than a month after visa issuance.

Also, my brother’s wife was issued a visa that is valid for four months only ( her passport isn’t  expiring until 2021) but this just means that they do issue visas valid for less than 6 months. Don’t renew it and just send it

What do you mean renew passport? You mean print the visa on the passport? I know a family that were interviewed and then were told to wait till they get a response to drop off their passports. They got the response and were told to go drop their passports but then a few minutes later they got a email recalling it.
