Congrats, what was it first refused for?

Thank you,

Refused under presidential proclamation, our status always showed as refused, last week they sent an email saying:”We are pleased to inform you that waiver review of your case is over and your immigrant visa may be processed to conclusion.”

and they asked us to mail them the passport and two photos. Two days after they received the passport status changed from refused to AP to issued.

same exact thing happened to a person who interviewed the same day as my wife.

Thank you,

Interviewed in Yerevan armenia, we applied as CR1 but visa is issued as IR1 since 2 years passed from the time of our marriage.  No inquiries from congressman/woman but i emailed the embassy once a month asking them if additional documents were required and  also of the waiver status.

So happy my husbands visa was issued today! CR-1 visa from embassy in Madrid. (He is from Iran). We started the process in April 2018. So thankful he will be here to celebrate the holidays with my family and to get settled before our daughter comes in the Spring! God is good! Don’t give up hope. ❤️🙏🏻

US EMBASSY Amman Jordan
Nationality : Yemen
Visa type: IR1 ( Spouse)
......
This is my bad experience

.......

- I submitted I-130 file  on 23 February 2016
- I waited until December 29, 2017 to give me approval for I-130 and  case number.
- My interview was on 15 May 2018 at US embassy Amman  Jordan.
- After the interview the Consular Officer put my case under administrative processing and request a waiver for my case because of travel ban.
- I waited  for more than one year and five months ( 17 months) to approve my waiver.
- On 17 October 2019 they called me to submit medical examination, police clearance and passport.
- I submitted  medical examination, police clearance and passport on 20 October 2019.
- On 3 November 2019 they called me to come to the  embassy to re-oath.
- On 7 November  2019 they issued my visa.
- The total time from the beginning to issuing visa 3 years and 10 months.

I have a friend whose father is stuck in the travel ban (for over two years now). We checked the status tonight and it says "Expiring soon"- this is normal right? Because of the 2 years since his interview and being stuck in Administrative processing? Anyone else with a similar situation?

Thanks!

I have the same situation and I have applied for DS-260 because it has expired. So I am waiting for the consulate in Djibouti to change the status. Hopefully something good will happen soon.

Hi all, in my interview checklist letter from the embassy I saw this.  Should I send the form now or wait to see what they ask for at the embassy. Thoughts?

After the interview, your file may be subject to additional administrative processing. In that case, you will be requested to complete the form DS-5535. If you would like to prepare the form in advance, you may complete the form in Microsoft Word format and email this information to ankaraivAP@state.govand provide your case number in your email message.

I think that you should wait, there is a high chance that you will not be put in AP.

Hey paret3169 how was your interview? Did you get the Visa? Did they ask for 5535?
