hit “Portals” and select your country that you’re petitioning in

FYI for the OP: a quicker way is to click the flag to the left of your posts (since Ecuador is where your fiance resides)

Your Input Is Appreciated On This VJ Guide Proposal:

Respondents here are focusing only on what USCIS needs and are ignoring or downplaying the reality that the consular phase is crucial.  The consulate is not supposed to refuse visas if USCIS has seen the information first.

Do not -- do NOT! -- take the Guayaquil consulate lightly.

OP, concentrate on quality evidence that would convince a skeptical stranger with 100% power over you (the consular officer) that your relationship is bona fide.  Include several pieces of evidence that span the duration of your entire relationship.  (Of course, exclude anything that says, in jest, "hubby," "wifey," or similar.)  Entire chat transcripts are not necessary unless they discuss the serious nature of your relationship in an objectively convincing fashion.

The consular officers rarely have time to look over evidence that's brought to the interview, so it makes sense (for tough consulates) to front-load USCIS petition packages with the material that will be reviewed in advance.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Oh thank you for this. I had thought that it would be tough. Could you please let me know if i am on the right track? I am sending the following.

Proof of meeting

*How we met pics and posts made on Facebook from that time.

*Meetings 1,2 & 3 pics of each day with each other, with family, friends, and receipts of tourist places (we always paid cash and stayed in his apartment, no hotels)

Proof of intent to marry

* letters of intent (his is dated july 30 he signed it when I went to see him in June, should i have him make a new one scan it and send it to me? I am hoping to send application this week)

* engagement ring with receipt

* proposal day pictures, posts on facebook and instagram and comments of family and friends

*chat we had about wedding plans and budget

*a letter of support of our relationship from my mother

Proof of Ongoing Relationship

*pics of exchange of gifts (i cant find the receipts though, because i didnt know i needed them)

*screenshots of us video chatting per whatsapp or Facebook messenger every month of this year together 2017-present because thats when we officially became exclusive and  knew we were in love (some are with my daughter and I, some are with my mom, nephew and such)

*phone logs since 2017, i have some on messenger from 2016, but they also have chats so I dont know if to include

*I was going to include screen shots of when i posted a video of him 8 yrs ago on facebook and our comments, to show how long we know each other

*inlcude recent chats of him with my mom, grandmother and my father. (to show their support) and myself with his mother and sister

*A copy of a note he wrote me when I left!

Please let me know if this is good? Am I missing anything? Do I need anything else? I didnt want to include to much of the chats, because they are long and in Spanish.

The translating everything from spanish to English is time consuming.

What do you mean "Objectively" when you said:"Entire chat transcripts are not necessary unless they discuss the serious nature of your relationship in an objectively convincing fashion." ?

Another question. My fiance knows little English, he understands some but he cant speak it. He is learning little by little, but not much. Will that be an issue at the embassy in Guayaquil?

@AnselyGierel i wouldn't waste my time translating the chat logs, since the CO and/or the person accepting your paperwork will probably speak Spanish. That is usually the case. I would reassure what @TBoneTX just let you know....do NOT take that embassy lightly. I lived there for my youth also and the embassy does not make things easy. Frontload the whole petition like suggested.  What you need to post of the chatlogs in my opinion is some indication of discussion what relates to the relationship. Your plans on what he will be doing here, work, life, money matters, school and such.

for proof of meeting: Do you have any stamps on your passport, boarding tickets, luggage tags and more? If possible try to get face time and do Airbnb so you can have receipt of a stay maybe in Quito or another city and print a receipt. This could solve the matter of hotel receipts or such.

proof of ongoing relationship: mail is bad in Ecuador, but if you send a letter by courier, like Delgado Travel a cheaper way of sending packages or letter is proof also

you can try to use google translate, not accurate, but helps out to just have some chatlogs in English. Just remeber they will be inquisitive about how do you communicate. No idea if you can be at the interview, in Kiev we where lucky i had the chance and i was asked some questions.

Sorry, do translate some of the chatlogs, since it is going to USCIS first. Had to edit this after i wrote it

Your proof looks good. Good luck

Thank you so much. I didnt stay at any hotel. I do have passport and tickets and reciept of plane flights. I will then add chats of us that are important. Most of our talking is via video or whatsapp phone calls. So, not a lot is written that is relevant to what you mentioned. Except our wedding plans and getting to know each other all over again after so many years. Jaja

We only have spanish, i speak spanish so thats how we communicate. Thanks about the google translate idea.

All of this has been very helpful!
