Tax transcript 2017

Just like all government agencies, the IRS is dragging their feet. In April, I followed the directions of the IRS agent to file for an ITIN number and joint filing status. The application was rejected which took about 3 months. So, I refiled my taxes as "married filing separately" and after about three weeks of mailing, they just got it in the system. The IRS agent said that I may not be able to access transcripts until the end of September.

This is problematic since we are almost 4 weeks into NVC receiving our approved I-130. This means that I may not be able to access a tax transcript for the 2017 year when comes time to file the Affidavit of support. If I'm lucky,  I'll get it in time but I'm not counting on it. Of course,  I don't want to hold up the immigration process because of the IRS.

I have transcripts for three years prior to 2017 and plenty of other evidence of income...W2s, employer letter, etc.

What can I do?

Thank you for your response but that's the problem. They aren't processed and may not be until mid to late September.

Oh, I see -  they got it, but have not started processing yet..Sorry..

In this case, yes, submit copy of your Tax Return, with W-2s/1099s attached.  I'd also include pay check stubs - just as a proof of your current income.  It should be sufficient.
