Is it normal to show multiple cases as ready? This is through the Haitian Embassy. Why is there 2 of them? Both have the same Case number but one has a 01 and the other has a 02 after the case #. I’m only petitioning for

one case. Anyone else familiar with this?

Yea, I never seen it either. The agent at the embassy told me not to worry about it, so I’ll just wait to see what happens. I can’t wait for this part of the visa to be over! We have our interview next month so we’re now just preparing for the interview. I’m hoping all goes well.

That’s great! Honestly I was so worked up going into the interview and there wasn’t anything to worry about. I went with my husband and we were one of the last ones called for the day..around 6 hrs at the embassy and we were on,h asked a few questions. Passport came back relatively quickly as well...I was expecting a hassle in getting it back but was reletively smooth. Are you of Haitian decent and has your fiancé been to the us before?

That’s such good news to hear cause I am soooo nervous and I’m not even the one that’s going to be interviewed. Did they actually let you in the embassy and interview area when your fiancé was interviewed?

Yes, I’m Haitian and no my fiancé has NEVER been outside of Haiti (besides a quick trip to DR one time). So the U.S. is going to be a whole new world to him. He’ll be using his time going to an English language class while we wait for EAD.

Also, did they ask for an affidavit of support at the interview?

I was able to attend the interview with my husband and was with him the whole time - I think they no longer allow that now but not sure. They didn’t ask for an affadavit of support but I did have it with me - documents and joint sponsors documents as well. They didn’t need anything I hadn’t already submitted- we were extremely thorough though.

My my husband hadn’t been out of haiti and it was a complete change as I’m sure you know. My family isn’t Haitian, nor is there a Haitian community near by, so he didn’t have anything familiar here...but it’s been a lot of fun (and challenging at times) experiencing things with him that I would have taken for granted.

I just checked your page and I see that you’re from CT. So am I! There’s a lot of Haitians around here. You just have to know them lol. You mind sharing what the challenges were? You can private message me as well. Although I’m haitian & speak my language fluently, I still believe there’s going to be many challenges ahead of us, but I’m trying to think positive since we’ve been long distance going on 4 years now. So we’re both excited about cloSing the distance. Which part of CT are you from? The Haitian community isn’t like New York, Boston or miami but there’s ppl hidden within CT lol. You should go to a Haitian event/concert together, that’ll bring him back home for a little bit if you both love kompa :)
