Hi everyone,

 

I have submitted everything onto the CEAC website and everything has been approved and I have even been scheduled an interview appointment, however today I recieved an email. I think that it is just a reminder but it says to upload the following documents in English and Turkish. Do I need to get my marriage licence birth certificate and national ID translated into English? I never did and everything was approved?  This is part of the email that is confusing.

 

 

Please make sure to upload (www.ceac.gov ) the documents listed below and along with the translations (except for the documents in English and Turkish) prior to your interview and bring the originals with you when you come for your interview:

 

- National ID Card,

- Birth Certificate,

- Marriage Certificate (if applicable),

- Military Card (if applicable),

- Divorce Decree (if applicable),

- Death Certificate (if applicable),

- Original Police Certificate (Police Certificate from is Iran not required),

Do I need to translate everything from Turkish to English? On the NVC website it says either Turkish or English will do.

The word “except,” which you have here in bold, is the primary logical operator. If the document is in Turkish, it will be accepted. Likewise, if the document is in English, it will also be accepted. 

 

Any document in any other language must be translated. 

 

The message is not confusing. It is quite clearly written.

No.  If you are unable to understand such a simple statement in clear direct English, you should probably get some competent assistance in moving forward with the visa application process.
