Lost Social Security Card replacement?

Hello. Will I be able to get a replacement Social Security Card because the first one was lost if I walk in the social security office and show my EAD? EAD was issued on category 09 based on pending I-485A? (Still pending). I am also assuming the new card will not have 'NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT' label on it.

Yes. New one will have the DHS authorization restriction on it.

Do I have to show any other document besides EAD? I know I can't do replacements online.

I would have to mail the original EAD document if I don't do this in person but they ask for originals but which I have to mail the original EAD document to them? Sounds like a big risk.

Nope, no expiration dates on an SSC card for anyone. The number on it follows you for life.

I still have my original SSC issued shortly after birth.

Oh ok. Lot of them were brought here as young as 1 year old.

Informed delivery shows something from SSA today. I am pretty sure the card is in there.

It was the SSC. How come it has the date when I applied for it? What good does that do?

 

My original SSC did not have that.

Not sure, but it doesn't impact its validity or usage.

Since it does say the note about DHS. The SSC is good as the expiration date of EAD?

The card is good unless/until it is replaced. Same with the number.

You need a valid EAD plus a SSC to work.

Once you get a green card, you can get a new SSC without the restriction. Then you just need valid ID + the SSC to work.
