What difference does it make if they were under the table? Answer all questions 100 percent honestly. Especially considering they don't care if your job was under the table.

They would not care? In some cases thats a serious matter. I was going through something at that point in my life and I wish I was more consistent with the employers about putting me into the system so I could receive checks. I guess at the time it didn't matter to me because the money was decent.

Don't lie.  Omitting information is lying.

It's against the TOS on VJ to advise you lie on an immigration form.

My thought was if the under the table employment was longer than 5 years ago that you don't have to list it on the form.

If it wasn't, you do need to account for it. You also need to start gathering things like tax returns.

If you had maybe two under-the-table jobs would you include them on the app with all your other jobs? If you don't include them would it look bad for the gap of time between official jobs?

Are you the petitioner?

if the IRS gets ahold of this information...you might and probably have to pay a fine and back taxes. Now when it comes to immigration, that is something they really don't deal with because they require the info to see what your actual income is. In other words, this income to my opinion does not qualify as income, because it is not traceable. Just keep in mind that they may refer this information to the IRS since they do share information between agencies.

Going back to your matter of immigration...good luck, but if you didnt make "enough on the books", it would be hard for USCIS to judge if you need a co-sponsor or not. "under the table" does not qualify as income. The petitioner needs to make 100% of the poverty line for k-1 and 125% for AOS

@Alabamak1 this post don't apply to me, so they can take any information they want and investigate whatever they want. Please read my post again and stop assuming because that is annoying. Moreover, I have always worked on books but I think I can ask questions here for a friend who is in a relationship across seas, without being accused in such ways.

@Daniela M_______ Yes I am.

You do not need to bold every response. Also, no one is accusing you. We don't care if you're asking for you OR your friend. You're going through the K1 process right now, so we're going to go ahead and assume that all of your questions pertain to you and your relationship.

You/your friend/your dog need to list your employment history, regardless of 'legality'. We won't tell you to do anything illegal, because that's against the terms of this site and it's not something we do.

Also, it's CLEAR from your previous posts that you're putting your packet together. If this IS about you, it's better to just say so that way people can give you the most accurate information possible.

@Alabamak1 is right. You need to make enough to sponsor your future husband/wife, especially on the books.
