I was monitoring the processing time for the San Antonio office and recently it went from 4.5 months to 10.5 months for the wait time on the low end. See below:

4.5 Months to 16.5 Months   8/1/18
Application for Naturalization
March 29, 2017

10.5 Months to 19 Months   8/2/18
Application for Naturalization
January 10, 2017

I was wondering how does the backlog date go from March 29th, 2017 back to January 10th, 2017. Did they suddenly discover thousands of old cases :) ? -OR- did another overloaded office like Dallas transfer cases to this office?

One thing to note is that my expected processing time did not change.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I don't think anyone knows.

Mine said 13 months for N-400 and it took 4.

I think that is based on the date the closed out the most recent cases and some of them might have been worst case scenarios...

Best bet is to look up people's timeline for your office.

I wish they would transfer some Dallas people to other Texas offices.  Wait time in Dallas is horrendous, 22 month wait time.  My immigration to here was so much quicker than the citizenship part.

I would like some insight also.
