foreign earned income exclusion for first year green card holder

Last year my spouse moved from South Korea to the US to live with me (a US citizen), after completing the IR-1 visa process.  She moved permanently to the US last year in May and received her green card in June.  She had been working in Korea for the prior 10+ years at a Korean corporation, until she moved to the US.

I am filing 2017 taxes jointly with my spouse (with extension till October) and was hoping someone could confirm if my spouse's income in Korea from January through May 2017 qualifies for foreign earned income exclusion under the bona fide residence test.   I'm a little confused whether the bona fide residence test requires that she lived in South Korea for the entirety of 2017, or if the years she lived prior to 2017 in Korea count?  She had been living in Korea for her whole life until last May, do I put that in the box for dates of bona fide residence?

Prior to this I had been filing taxes as married filing separately so this is the first time I've needed to figure her income into our taxes.

Thanks
