Yes, I knew the maximum allowed stay is 6 months.

That's exactly what I planned - to reset the trip while going to Canada and then coming back for another month in the U.S.

I'm sure you know that the "reset button" doesn't work like that.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Pity you didn’t research if it was allowed first! From the US perspective, you actually planned to overstay all along then.

Makes this forum wonder what you do (good paying job/studying?).. or whether you really have strong ties to your country that you're so intent on going for another b2 visa having already spent 6+ months in North America. Btw what is your country?

Your plan was a poor plan since its design is a violation of the terms of your visitor visa.  You should have researched it.
