I've heard many cases where the reverse is true, as it is for my wife. In other words, she received a physical letter inviting her to an N400 interview but it said nothing about the pending i751. From what I've read, these invitations are almost always a combo n400/i751 interview, no matter what the physical letter states.

No. The N400 interview is in 2 weeks. They set it about 7 weeks from when they notified us. I'm hoping in that intervening 7 weeks they're reviewing the ROC application. Most of the reports I've seen is that interviewee's are mostly approved at the interview and sometimes a few checks need to be made on the ROC. Anyway, the light is visible at the end of the tunnel, I think.

This thread tracks a lot of VJ members who have filed both N400 and I751. The reports are by individual members and you might have to go back through the last 20 or so pages to see around 10 different reports of their experiences. Some members have reported that once the N400 interview was completed that the local office only then started adjudicating the I751 (ROC). There are certain background checks that are done associated with the ROC application.
