Unofficial Wedding party when applying for K-1 Visa

Hi, im new here. Im trying to apply for my k-1 fiance visa. Yesterday my husband in the US file the petition and sent it to uscis. I had a wedding party before my husband leave my country. We dressed up as a groom and bride. But it wasnt a legal marriage or official marriage at all because its not even listed by the government. And when i sent the petition i put some photos of me and my husband together and also 1 photo of our wedding party. I also give them notes that they might find a pictures on my facebook that looks like we already got married but we really not married yet. And i also tell them that i can show them a letter from the government telling that im single and free to get married with my husband in the US. And my question is do u guys think its fine to have a wedding party like this when im trying to apply for K-1 fiance visa? Do u guys think uscis people will accept my petition or no? I get worry because i read about some case where people get rejected because they show them that they had a wedding ceremony etc, eventhough its not even official yet and not legal by law or by the government. But on the other hands im confused because i call 3 different uscis people today and ask about this case and they told me that as long as the marriage isnt official then we should be fine. This is making me confused. So guys, what should i do and do u guys think that theyll reject m petition or no? Please answer. Thanks everyone.

My question is. .what petition did you send? The US fiance is the one who files a petition. The 129..that is first step to await the approval from uscis..but yes, a wedding ceremony is a wedding ceremony. .it will get rejected.

One... if it's for a K-1, he isn't your husband. So you really should stop saying it.. can cause a lot of confusion later especially with those photos already in the petition...

Two.... this may cause huge huge issues. If it gets through USCIS, the embassy may flat out deny the K-1 visa on grounds that it seems you're married already. Regardless of what "proof" you can show that you aren't, they are not obligated at all to look at any of it. It is always highly stressed to avoid any formal ceremony/parties that could even give a hint to it having been a wedding, let alone actually dressed up officially as a bride and groom...

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it gets denied at the embassy. What country is this for? Again USCIS may push it through, but the embassy doesn't have to listen to anything you say or anything you show them.... At this point either let it go and see what happens or try to withdraw the petition and remove those items and refile... and yes have to pay the fee again.

Omg yeah i always call him my husband since that party 😂😂 thanks to remind me 😂 so if I withdraw the petition they wouldnt see into it? So they wouldnt know about those pics or notes?

Its I-129F and yeah thats my fiance who file it. Not me. So whats the best option for me? Withdraw it? Which is means ill lose my money? Or just let it go and see what happens after? ☹️

Hi, im new here. Im trying to apply for my k-1 fiance visa. Yesterday my husband in the US file the petition and sent it to uscis. A husband can not file for a fiancee.  I had a wedding party before my husband leave my country. We dressed up as a groom and bride. But it wasnt a legal marriage or official marriage at all because its not even listed by the government. And when i sent the petition i put some photos of me and my husband together and also 1 photo of our wedding party. No, it's not fine.  You are setting yourself up for a denial at the interview.  Do u guys think uscis people will accept my petition or no? Your petition might get accepted, and then you get a denial at your interview.  I get worry because i read about some case where people get rejected because they show them that they had a wedding ceremony etc, eventhough its not even official yet and not legal by law or by the government. If you read and knew that people get K-1 visa rejections for this, then why did you go ahead with this?  Why do you think you are special and would not end up like them?  But on the other hands im confused because i call 3 different uscis people today and ask about this case and they told me that as long as the marriage isnt official then we should be fine. USCIS information is often referred to as the misinformation line.  If they give wrong information, it doesn't matter.  You are responsible for your case even if they give you the wrong information.  This is making me confused. So guys, what should i do and do u guys think that theyll reject m petition or no? Better to get the I-129f rejected now, then to get it accepted and then fail the interview.  Please answer. Thanks everyone.

Bad idea.  Very bad idea.

Well they are out there now but only at USCIS... so right now might be okay... but if you refile you may have to put that you already filed once with case # and all... it itself could be asked why you ithdrew it originally and all... but technically if you withdraw now and remove those items and refile (and again pay the filing fee again) then should be okay.. but yea.. the pics are already out in the open.

No.  Withdrawing it does nothing.  You gave them the evidence, now they have it.  Furthermore, you would have to let them know if you previously file a petition (that includes withdrawn petitions).  So withdrawing doesn't unring the bell.

Now you have to deal with being too married for the K1 and not married enough for the CR-1.

You read about not having a wedding before the K1 enters the US, why did you go ahead and do it?  Why did you think you are special and would not get the same rejection?

This is the second question about "why do i think im so special?"

Like what i just explained above, i DIDNT know about this today. Thats why i sent it yesterday and go ahead

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can still be denied if it wasn't an official wedding. It doesn't matter if you send in a video testimony from the Pope claiming your wedding was not real. The point is that it is the CO who will make the decision. And based on the evidence you sent in, you are at risk of being denied. Even if the interviewing officer heard you calling your fiance your husband can lead to a denial. You need to be prepared for worse case scenario.

Here are a few threads where they were denied for the same reason..

Withdraw it.  Stop the check.  Get marry legally.  File for a CR-1 spousal visa.

You could just let it go and see what happens.  Willing to go 12 months for the K-1, then get rejected, then having to go get marry in your country, file for a CR-1, and wait another year?

Stop the check wym? So i dont have to pay?

The above sounds as though you knew the possibility of USCIS viewing you as a married couple after submitting the photos...

Wait it out and see what happens---at the end, if denied, you can do the CR-1 route.

I told him to give me time to find out more info but he still send it. And yeah i know about some case where people get accepted and like i said before, i call uscis not just today but i call them like a week ago to make sure if its fine.
