Transfer Time Between USCIS and NVC

Hi All,

Hoping someone can provide some insight. The CSC approved our i129f on July 29, 2018 and the i797 states that the petition was forwarded to the NVC in Portsmouth, NH. Approximately how long does it take for the petition to arrive at the NVC? Does USCIS take their time in mailing the package and is there a way to confirm that it has, in fact, been mailed? I've called the NVC and they've yet to receive anything.

Thanks!

The time varies fairly heavily. It seems like they bundle a bunch of petitions together and send them to NVC, so where your approval falls in that cycle would be part of the differences. Typically it is within a week or 2, although there have been periods when it took a few weeks for USCIS to send it.

You can call USCIS customer service and ask if they mailed it yet,. but there's no confirmed way to know for sure where it is exactly until NVC says they received it.

My I-797 was approved on 7/26/2018, 3 days before yours.  And as of today, NVC still does not have my file either.

The wait is killing me....hehhehe.... just when I thought I was making progress....Hurry up and wait!

I'm also K1 applicant and we got an approval notice on 23rd of July.

My fiance called NVC on 13th of August and got the new case number from there!

We waited for about 3 weeks(to be exact 22days) and then first time calling, we got the case number!

how does nvc inform the petitioner of the case number, or that they received the application, or that they are ready to forward it to the consulate abroad? my first time going through this, as for most, I guess..

The petitioner can call and ask. NVC also sends a letter via snail mail.

Actually, is NVC only for immigrant visas or also for non-immigrant ones?

They handle both types. An I-129F can be accessed via either since it is NIVC but processed like an IV.

Hi every body,After approved at uscis, please can someone tell me what s the next steps....? please

hi!

After your approval at USCIS, your case will be transfer to NVC  (Department of State) , once you are at this stage of the process everything goes super fast. You should call at NVC to find out if you case was received. If you are K1 visa, you will get a case number at NVC. You can find more information about this process

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide. We are doing IR5 and the process is longer that yours. Good luck!

In our case was about 20 days but as I told before we are IR5. In your case is a lot faster. One or two weeks to receive your case,  but keep calling until you get a case number.
