waiver needed or not?

I need some help please. Me and my wife got married last year in South-Africa. I was told by several USCIS customers service reps. that she could come back to the states with me on her visitors visa and file all the paperwork in the US. When they found out at the poe that we are married and planning on filling the paperwork while she was here she was denied entry the reason being she had the wrong visa and was sent back on the next plane no cost to the US. Our I-130 and I-129f has since been approved and we are just waiting for a interview date for the k-3.

Denial of entry does not normally require a waiver. Did they give her any paperwork or stamp her passport with anything? If so, you can search for the code entered and see if a waiver is needed.

No paperwork just a stamp in her passport. Where can we search to see if we need a waiver. Thank you

Denial of entry for the having the wrong type of visa does not normally require a waiver. (Now you know that USCIS customer service does not provide accurate information and a visitor visa is not the correct visa for the spouse of a USC).

What did the stamp in her passport say? You can simply search on google for that code or better yet, consult with a qualified immigration attorney to be sure you are clear on whether or not a waiver would be necessary (I think not).

Same problem here, kind of.

USCIS reps told the same thing to us.

Thus I can't enter to US to see my husband. Or I could try to get a tourist visa, which they still can decide that it is not enough at the border ... *sigh*. And as this USCIS misinformation cost me my job, I can't even get a tourist visa here...
