It can happen. Sometimes they find something when it’s in AP that makes them refuse it. It could be a mistake. You won’t know anything until you get his passport back in the mail with the refusal letter. You can try to call the embassy and speak to someone but they’re hard to reach. Wait a week or two and you should get things back to you. Check ceac every day because if it’s a mistake they’ll fix it in a few days most likely.

Like above, there was another thread on almost same thing minus theirs never went to issued but just to refused after they were approved in the interview. Think we all came to say it was most likely an error with the system; but like above again, things could have come up during the final checks and all after the interview. Hard to say other than calling and asking or just waiting it out.

Possibly a mistake, possibly an inadmissibility discovered in final checks, or possibly a missing document or something discovered (in which case they will reach out to the applicant to provide it).

Good luck. Please keep the thread updated!

One more thing I had already filed the Wavier I-601 and that was approved would that not help as I was able to prove the hardship I would have if my husband cannot return?  I hope to God its a mistake I will wait and see since they had told us it takes 5-10 days its been a week 5bd .

ok so really weird I just checked my Husbands case now and it say transfer in progress they are transferring his case to another US embassy office and to check back later ??? Is it because he is in Mexico City and there is a US consulate there? I hope this is good?

UPDATE!!!!!!  Status now shows passport at the DHL office waiting for him to pick it up . So Weird that his status went from issued to refused to transfer in progress and now ready for pickup. So I told him to go get it tonight crossing my fingers his visa is in it . So weird that he was supposed to have been given his A number and DOS number at his interview but was only given the green paper stating he was approved and told to wait 5-10 days . Today marks the 10th BD . Will update again soon he wants me to fly down and pick him up just hope we have no issues coming back home.
