Are there any loans that you can be added to of your spouses?

I added my husband to my car loan so it would help with his credit when he first moved back to the states. Then I was his co-sponsor for his car loan when he bought a car. We also added one and other as beneficiaries of each other's life insurance and 401k accounts.  We also had family planning medical records from doctors visits of the two of us.

Yes, my wife now added me to her car loan. She also added me to a couple utility bills. We also got an IRA (retirement account), but only after the interview. I don't know if it matters that we only got the IRA after the interview, though.

We don't have life insurance or 401k accounts, and it's not likely that we will.

We got asked about our joint bank account (which at the time we were not using) and we explained we were seeing a financial planner in the next two weeks and after that meeting we were going to start re-arranging our finances and where our paychecks were deposited (we are in our 30s and between the two of us had about 10 accounts we were trying to re-arrange). We also filed taxes married but filing separately but I simply explained it is for purposes of my student loan payments (which would double if I filed jointly).

They want to see that your life is entangled enough that it isn't just for show. So anything that shows you guys are trying to build a future together and relying/trusting each other with co-mingling. Good luck!

Thank you!

Yes, I know, but that's all we had at the time. We are living together and have a bona fide marriage, we just don't have tons of documents to show for it.

But wait, did they actually send out RFE, and have you received them yet?

I know one case of my friends, they said the same thing after the interview, but they have never seen the RFE, and it's been like that for almost a year. The other person keeps on renewing the EAD and working, which is all he needs.

Yep, I just received the RFE a couple days ago!

In regards to someone's post about providing evidence from your relationship's earlier days, do you have any photos or travel evidence or other evidence of living together from before you guys were married??? I think your IO may just be one who likes to nitpick and see a wide range of evidence.

You can also look into printing forms for general and healthcare power of attorney (forms that would place you and your spouse in charge of each other's affairs in the case of health and life circumstance failure). Not sure what the process is for those, though so you'd have to Google it.

Other questions: how long have you had the joint bank account?? Did you bring only one statement to the interview??

IO's like to see several months' worth of bank statements if it has been open for some time. We added my husband's (USC) name to my account shortly before we got married last year. So we only had a single month's statement that we sent in with the I-130. But now we'll have a whole year's worth of statements and I'll be highlighting which transactions belong to who because we both use it regularly and have separate debit cards for it. They want to see any joint accounts being used by both people on a regular basis for things like bills, groceries, day-to-day stuff.

Yes, she did like to nitpick like you say, but the letter asks for evidence from the time we got married to now only, not before the marriage.

Okay, I'll google about your second suggestion, but my wife doesn't want to do anything related to health or death due to her belief system.

Photos, travel itinerary, both names under the same account (gym membership, family phone call plans, costco, etc).

Gifts, communication records(phone calls, text messages, etc), letter or cards from family and friends

I'd suggest you to send everything including the stuff you've already submitted.

The more evidence the better.

We have a joint checking account for quite a while. I don't know now how many statements we showed, because my wife presented them. But I'll check with her and probably send more than what was shown at the interview.

I know, but we practically showed all that we had, if that wasn't enough then I really don't know what else to show.

No, I don't have health insurance, since it's something I would get only if I were working, which I'm not because I only got my EAD 2 months ago and we moved states.

You can get affordable insurance on line for less than $150 a month, higher deductible, high co pay, doen't cover dental or vision, but if one needs to go see a doctor or go to the ER, they will owe a lot of money! And then there is that thing with taxes that you need to show proof of insurance or be fined. I don't know if Trump dropped that or now yet.

Thanks guys for all the answers so far.

But do I send new proof together with the things I showed her at the interview??? Or only new evidence?

You've asked twice now. I haven't seen it answered. New evidence. I mean you can send in the old evidence as a recap but they obviously want more/new evidence. If you send the same stuff in for the RFE, it'll be denied. I'm honestly surprised you sent in the same evidence for your ROC as you did your AOS.

Edit: Oh, it was answered. I just missed it.

2nd edit: We are in the waiting limbo right now for this process. We didn't send a large packet at all. We didn't send all possible evidences. Just very key evidences. Like basically the stuff at the top of the list. No pics. No bank statements. But we are confident that we will be approved. Even if we get an RFE, there is plenty of additional evidence we can supply easily. Not to mention that the birth of our 2nd child is currently forecast to be late Nov/early Dec, which will be before any decision has been made in our case based off current processing times.
