Hi!

I don't know if I'm posting on the right sub-forum, but here it goes:

At the interview, the officer said she might ask for more proof of bona fide marriage because she wasn't completely convinced.

We already showed to the officer at the interview:
- joint lease agreement
- joint bank account (to which she said something like: "I could have a joint bank account with anyone, that doesn't prove bona fide marriage")
- joint credit card
- a dozen pictures (all that we had together, since we don't like taking pics)

- Driver License of both showing the same address

Isn't that enough proof???

Our wedding was at the courthouse and we just had my MIL and my stepdaughters present. We didn't have a celebration or honeymoon after.

To "normal people" we have a boring life, because we don't go out much and we don't celebrate special dates and don't take pictures, etc. We are very, very private people. But that's the way we live and we like it that way.

So, that's why she didn't think we have a bona fide marriage.

Now they are asking for more (RFE). Do I also send those I showed her again? Or only new ones?

Yeah, we've got the car insurance to show now. We also have a couple utility bills, just don't know if they can register two people in one bill, though.

My lovely office is in Charlotte, NC.

From my personal experience. They likely to look at the evidence before you getting married.

Hm, but it's saying specifically in the letter that they want evidence from the time we got married to now. They don't want anything prior to the marriage.

Do you have health insurance? Try to see if you can add your spouse name in your health insurance.

And as H&T said, maybe they also want to look at the evidence before you guys get married. Did you both write cards or letter or love note stuff like that?

Try to call to the utility department to see if it is possible to add your spouse name in it too

No, I don't have health insurance, since it's something I would get only if I were working, which I'm not because I only got my EAD 2 months ago and we moved states.

Oh so you and your spouse both moved to the states from another country?

Which visa you both adjust status from?

What about this year's tax return showing you filed as "married" (either jointly or separately)?? And did you submit anything with your original AoS package??

I have to ask my wife about the tax return... will tell you later.

We sent the I-130 separately with the initial proof and we had a RFE there. Then we brought some more evidence at the interview...

The only thing I could do is the affidavit here (out of the things you suggested). I could ask my MIL for one, but it might not work because she is a government-conspiracy theorist.
