SSN name change, tax filing and I-130

So my wife has submitted a name change ( to married name)  on SSN via the Federal Benefits unit at the Embassy who state will take 4-5 weeks to process and card to be posted from USA to UK address.

 

Once we have the new SSN card will be submitting 3 years tax returns to IRS in her married name via the streamline procedure as she was unaware that she should be submitting tax returns whilst living in UK.

 

Question is .... how long after posting the tax returns to the IRS should we wait before submitting the I-130 to the London embassy.  Does the I-130 process check tax returns ? or just on DS-260 visa application ?

Obviously if not part of the I-130 process they will be entered by the IRS a few weeks after submission ? and well before any DS-260 Visa application by myself.

Hello  neither the I1-30 or DS-260 check the status of tax returns.   They are needed for the I-864 which is typically given at the Consular Interview.  If it were me I would file the tax returns with her current name or check out https://www.irs.gov/help/telephone-assistance.  You can even call them.   Tax returns can always be amended. 

 

File the I-130 and get the ball rolling.   We are in Mexico and it took our consulate six weeks to get from the I-130 Approval (3 days)  to the stage of filing in DS-260 and getting an appointment.  Then the time to the appointment was 7 more weeks. ( Originally 5 months).
