My husband received his permanent resident card and approval letter in July. May 2017 filer. He is now getting this extension letter. Should he worry or call USCIS to notify. I think this might be a glitch due to all the backed up cases? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you

Yes, during our last visit to India, at airport they look under the light for watermark.  the thick paper ( one year extension) has it.  The courtesy version 18 months extension is on a plain paper, so it might be an issue and might delay to boarding process.  Getting through US immigration might not be an issue.  If you did not use Attorney to file , you need to wait a few more days to get the original  ( if USCIS mailed both).

We got the letter today.  We do not have an attorney, filed the i751 on our own, and never sent any g-28 form with our package.

The body of the letter starts out with "We have mailed an official notice about this case... to the mailing preferences you chose on Form G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney. This is a courtesy copy, not the official notice."

Do all letters have the same wording?  On plain white paper (unlike the original notices last year on heavier stock color paper)?

Same here. Received courtesy copy on 8-27

did you ever received official copy?

Did you call uscis?  I did call but they told me it was a automated sent out of letters.

Once our officiel 12month Ext letter expires the 18month is not valid. As it states on the letter it’s not an official copy 😰

Jan 2018 filer here. We got the 18 month extension letter in August that is a "courtesy copy" (no immigration benefit heading on top) and we never got an official/cardstock copy.

It looks like some people are getting the official copies. If you got the courtesy copy, did you ever get the official copy?

And does anyone here have any data points on whether this courtesy copy (plus the original filing receipt) will work for travel/re-entry?
