not for another 18 to 20 months.

Your petition was only approved, now you wait in line with other F2A filers. There are limited number of Visa for this category each year, you will have to wait till it is your turn.

For long term: If the spouse is eligible for USC, apply for that ASAP. If you are part of a skilled workforce, try coming here for a job.

Short term: apply for visitor's visa, worst you are out of USD 200 and are denied, best case, you are approved and stamped for 6 months and can stay with spouse for 6 months out of the year.

A visitor visa is next to impossible with a pending f2a.  Moreover, no guarantees of a 6-month admission. 6 months is akin to living in the US, which technically borders on b2 abuse. OP is free to try for a work visa or any other kind s/he is eligible for, or wait patiently as other F2a applicants on VJ.

Hopefully his/her US-based spouse was honest about F2a processing times when they were getting to know each other.

I-751 journey

10/16/2017.......... ROC package mailed

10/18/2017.......... I-751 package received VSC

10/19/2017.......... I-797 NOA date

10/30/2017.......... Check cashed

11/02/2017.......... Conditional GC expired

11/22/2017.......... Biometrics completed

Your case has just been approved 2 months ago, USCIS has not sent your case to NVC, so you will not get the case number letter from NVC.

There is one person F2A:

- Got their case approve 1 May 2018

- Got Case number and Invoice ID from NVC 11 July 2018

You will get the NVC letter with case number within 3 months from approval date. If you don't get it, you can ask them via NVC inquiry form. After 2-6 weeks they will reply.
