Does your consulate include this form in the list of requirements? It is generally required for any non-immigrant visa interview. K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa.

im not sure about the required forms from a us embassy in australia, but if this form wasnt included in your packet 3 then i wouldnt worry about it! normally they sent you all the forms they want you to fill out!

but if youre not feeling secure with that, try to ask some australian people if they had to fill out the ds-157.

in the past this form wasnt required in germany but they changed it and i have to fill it out too even though it says that its only for males between 16 and 45! i think its a form with which they want to make sure youre not a terrorist or have special skills you could use to build bombs....

I would fill it out online and have it ready. It's a supplement to a non-immigrant visa application and is required for any male between 16 and 45 applying for a non-immigrant visa. That's why it's not always included in the K1 packets - because technically it's a non-immigrant visa but most consulates process it as an immigrant visa.

In the end it's up to you to be prepared and have all the right documents - it would be wise to include this one.
