Thanks Triple8,

I was however not asking how long the F3 process takes. Our dates are current. I was asking " average waiting times for an Interview Date at the London US Embassy for F31 family Visa. Our documents were approved on the 18 July"

I have found the Thread you were referring to ... thanks

What is your PD?

You said that your dates is current which mean your PD is around 15 Jun 2006?

Because you said that your documents were approved 18 July so I assume your case has just been approved.

That's why I said that the waiting time from the priority date to interview is 12 years.

Maybe you are confused with case COMPLETED on 18 July?

Our Priority Date April 2006

  • Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence Accepted 18th June02018
  • Civil Documents Accepted 07 June 2018
  • Email received from NVC Stating "DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED" and they will be working with the  "U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in LONDON, GRBR to schedule an interview appointment for you"

So, was just wondering what the average time in days it takes for the US Embassey in london to scvhedule appointment dates?

Nvc wont process a case until the priority date is current.  The op just wants to know the timeline from cc to interview.

If you got the case completed email on July 18, you can call NVC now to ask if you have interview on September.

There is one case with PD 11 APR 2006 in India got the interview letter on July 29 for September.

Because USCIS has predicted that some preferences will be retrogressed in September, so we do not know that if F3 is retrogressed.

You should call NVC to get a right answer.

We cannot predict when Embassy will schedule the interview when the PD is current, because sometimes they are busy so they process the interview slower than usual.

Hello Triple28

My attorney in the US advised me against calling them, and said that they would advise me through the NVC portal.

Do you suggest I call, and if so, should I call the Embassy in the UK?

Rgds Richard

You should call NVC, they got an interview schedule now so they can tell you if you have interview or not yet. I don't know why the attorney sugggests that you should not call NVC. Because calling NVC is a quickest way to get your answer.

If you ask them via their portal, you will have to wait at least 2 weeks to get their reply.

The consulate cannot answer about your case because NVC has not sent them your documents. NVC only send your documents to the Consulate 1 month before your interview date.

You can check your case status in the website ceas. If it shows READY which mean the Consulate get your document and you can call them. If it shows at NVC it means you should call NVC to ask your case status.

I contacted the NVC and all they could tell me was that I was in the queue and they could not guarantee an interview in September or October. I just need to wait and they will send me an email when I have an interview date.

According to the visa bulletin for September, your date is within the cut off date, it means your PD is current for September.

So what you can do is waiting for the UK embassy to schedule your interview.

In fact, after receving the email "U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in XXX to schedule an interview appointment for you", I and some people got the interview letter within 1 month.

However, maybe the UK Embassy is busy so they cannot schedule interview for you yet.

Recently, some people called the NVC and got no interview answer, but they got the interview letter later. So you can hope that you will be that case.

In case you got no interview in September, I believe that you will get an interview in October.

Because it is the beginning of new fiscal year, so a new quota for visa will be available for all cases.

Still no interview date 😭.  I have sent an email to and also called the NVC twice now, and have been told the same... I.e. that they will contact me when an interview date is available. They said I missed the September dates, as they have all been allocated and they can't even guarantee I will be in October either, as they have no control over the amount of interview slots available. Strange thing is that my brother already has his interview date. His documents went in a month after mine (by post though) and was approved 2 weeks before ours.

The NVC  said the interview slots get released once a month for the following month.Does anyone know when they release the dates/slot each each month?

Your brother got interview sooner because he completed his case before you.

NVC got the schedule for October interview from the first day of September.

If you called them this week and they said you don't have interview in October, which mean you will have to wait for November interview.

Let's hope that you will get interview letter soon in the next month because the new fiscal year will begin from October, which mean more visas are available.
