OK, well seeing as you are from Russia it is obvious who you support and I know you will defend anything this man does. With that said there is no reason for me to argue with you.

Full disclosure, I am not from Russia, my wife is, but what does that have to do with anything?  Can I make some inferences about you because you are from the Philippines?  Maybe you need to review the TOS from this site?

After I posted that I knew I should have worded that differently. My apologies.

I came to this thread to look at statistics and was met with more bickering.

Come on guys. We're better than this.

I agree, back to the topic at hand.

I will freely admit that until my wife was studying for her N400, I only remembered 4 of 5 of the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment (redress of grievances was the one I forgot).

Again, freedom of the press is not freedom of access.  If the government blocks all access to all press then you might have a point, but calling out one reporter or one organization is just that, questioning their bias.  I believe we have seen some of that in the last administration as well.

Freedom of the press, which is covered under the 1st, is also pretty clear. The government shouldn't be making laws against them, or having much to do involving laws around them. Reporters have jobs to do, and administration's need to toughen up a bit. Hard questions and criticisms have been launched towards administrations, since any Presidency began. Furthermore, this administration isn't the first to somewhat threaten the press. The old days were *WILD*! If anything, we've come a long way, the press from an editorial standpoint is rather tame compared to then. It may not feel like it, but do some research and you'll see all sorts of crazy things said.

Being questioned is fine. The president or government blocking the press is fidelity a freedom of speech issue. Don't you think?

Administrations have always had a hard time with the press, and many have restricted access. Though I do agree that the administration has no business labeling the press the ''enemy of the people''. You can easily see which press and reporters Trump and those in his circle use to get out little messages here and there (while simultaneously attacking them). As long as a government does not make a law against them or blocks all access, from a 1st standpoint, it's in the clear. Even then, the press will continue to do their job, and rightly so.

I've been doing the little pre testing on the uscis site (do they actually give you some sort of study/reading materials when you apply? or do you have any you recommend?) for him in preparation for next year. He's doing really well on quizzing so far.

Yes, my wife got a booklet.  In fact she actually has two, I think she picked up the other one at the USCIS office.  She used this one the most, but there are flash cards as well.  Another thing she did was watch a lot of sample interviews on YouTube.

Good Luck!

Back to the topic, sort of.  Who knows what the 3rd Amendment does or guarantees without looking it up?
