Fiancee' to put in Resignation?

My fiance' and I was wondering if she should put in her resignation for her job once we have the NOA 2 approval?  She was told she needed to provide a one month notice upon resigning.  I was looking at some timelines and it seems like we may be able to do the interview around 1 month after NOA2?  I was just curious if you think this is a good time frame or if she should wait later to resign?

What does your fiance do?  If it's regular stuff then don't worry about it because they get paid peanuts over there for their jobs. So unless she has some high level or government job then she can resign anytime. 

 

Once you get the NOA2 then it can be about a month if you are rocking and rolling.

^^This 100%. Also, Rule #1: Don't make any concrete decisions until the approved visa is in hand.

I’m also waiting for the NOA 2. Here in the Philippines, they always require us to render for at least 30 days. What does she do for a living? I would highly recommend that she give her resignation letter once you have the visa. We might not know what will happen. Just be cautious

She is an English teacher for Asian students.  She confirms with me she really needs to give one month notice so I think maybe she will just resign once we have the NOA2 approval.

I understand that, but she isn't too worried about her job because she said if we don't pass the interview she knows she can get her job back without any issues.

Thanks.  Yeah she keeps saying the 30 days as well to resign.  She is an English teacher for Asian students.  She said she knows she can get the job back easily so she isn't too worried about it if we failed to get the visa.

Thanks.  Yeah she keeps saying the 30 days as well to resign.  She is an English teacher for Asian students.  She said she knows she can get the job back easily so she isn't too worried about it if we faile dot get the visa.

How much money is she risking losing? 30 days at most? If you can cover her why not get the NoA2, schedule the interview and medical and resign after passing the medical medical, that covers almost 3 weeks of her resignation period

I'm not sure exactly how much it is she will lose, but we are not that concern about that. She just wants to be respectful and give them the full 30 days before resigning is all.  Our plans our as soon as we have NOA2 we will schedule the medical and interview as soon as possible.  I will fly there and be there for interview with her and hopefully we can both fly back here together once we have the visa.

@Tokenfreak please advise your fiancee not to resign yet. She needs to wait though. She can also give an immediate resignation but she has to provide the proof that shes getting married and will be leaving the country, some employer allows it. They cant do anything about it most especially if you guys already booked the ticket.

Ok, I just told her what you said (We are on video chat right now).  She said she can easily get her job back if she didn't get the visa so she doesn't seem to worried about it.  She was more concern on when she should give the notice to properly give at least 30 days before resignation is all.  We haven't book any tickets yet as we are still awaiting our NOA 2 approval....hopefully we get it this week.

Golden rule: Don't make plans you aren't able/willing to cancel until the visa is in hand.

You can go against the rule, but know it's a rule in place for good reason.
