That being said, if you are downtown T.O.... you gotta go for Cora's!

I remember many nights as a teenager being drunk and having a slice outside Cora's at 2 a.m. :P

I grew up in the New Haven CT area so, for me, that is the absolute best pizza there is!!!!! No pizza anywhere is going to compare. I admit it, I am a PIZZA SNOB

The hubby likes CT pizza, but prefers toppings that he used to get back in Vancouver ... bbq chicken is his favorite. He was a big fan of slices of pizza from this hole-in-the-wall place next to a SkyTrain stop in Vancouver.

oooo, speaking of Dowtown TO late night noshes...I used to hang out down on Queen St. West, and there's a joint there we used to stop into on our way to the streetcar or parking lot (whichever was the case). The line would be out the freakin' door all night long. And for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. Its down there by all the goth clubs...they have good pizza.

Well here we just order Blackjack Pizza, it's not a huge chain. Another great one which I don't think have many stores is Fargo's. It's a place you don't order out from, instead you stand in a line order your pizza (they even have shrimp), grab your beers and sit near the fire places on a couch or on the balcony's etc. Great pizza.

In Canada, whenever I'm in Toronto I have to grab one of thoe Pizza Pizza sinle peparoni slices, those are great. I just remember the old chain growning up called Mothers Pizza. I just remember their root beer was amazing, pizza I think was great too. Once again it was a sit down and eat there type deal...

this is such a funny thread ... i must add to it because of my love for pizza.

Windsor, Ontario, although it does not shine in many other ways ... has the Best Pizza ever! And this is coming from someone who has traveled quite a bit (in North America at least).

Most "Windsorites" would agree with me too (anyone out there?). If I can find good "windsor" pizza out here in Utah .. I will be a very happy camper.

Pizza places in Windsor that kick butt are: Naples, Francos, and Armandos. Cantelanos used to be the best ever .. but now they are owned my Armandos .. which is Great but not as super fantastic as Cantelanos.

Furthermore tho, Detroit, Michigan also has amazing deep dish pizza places such as "pizza popalis" and "buddys".

I personally prefer the pizza from Pizza Delight (a chain found in Atlantic Canada), pizza from Big Red's (found only in Nova Scotia), slices of donair pizza from the place next door to the museum in Mahone Bay, and slices from any of the places at the infamous "pizza Corner" in Halifax, NS.

I guess I like my Nova Scotian pizza. :P

Mazzio's makes an ok pizza, but nothing that makes me go "wow".

Pizza Delight is just that....a delight! Espeically their garlic fingers and donair sauce....oooooo! Also a slice of their Chocolate Eruption is..uhm..another experience altogether!

Pizza Delight ALL The way.. but.. I have to say I have had GREAT pizza here in the US.. Is there a US/CDN difference? I dunno.. I haven't noticed a crazy difference... had deep dish, CT style etc. it's all good; However I MISS garlic cheese fingers & Donair sauce.. back home they go together, you have garlic cheese fingers for an appetizer.. then you have the pizza.. it's like a religious experience.. a fully rounded meal.. and it just doesn't feel right here in the US just stuffing one's face only with pizza.. it's got no soul! :D

Amen Amen Amen!!!!

I dont find they put enough cheese on pizza here.

I also find that they put the cheese on the bottom of the pizza instead of the top.

I like Nova Scotia pizza much better.

I make alot of home made pizza's here. They are much better.

We're going to start making our own pizzas too. At least we can put as much cheese and other stuff as we want and not pay extra for it. ;)

I'm gonna make some pizza shells and put them in the freezer...pizza anytime!

Ahhh Pizza Corner...nothing better after a night out at the Bars (Dome)..I miss HALIFAX! :crying:

As for the OP..hmmm I don't really know..I will have to say Canadian Pizza. Not quite as greasy as some of the Pizza I have had here. Mind you..Chicago has the best deep dish I have ever had..Can I sit on the fence?

girl, I hear you and completely agree. The Pizza Delight in Bridgewater has a "bread bar", where you can spread different kinds of bread with different flavoured butter and slap it on a grill --- oh dear me my so good! And their pasta salad....... yeah, I'm gonna stop now before I torture myself too much with thoughts of Pizza Delight. :crying: :crying:

My mom makes a wicked good thin crust pizza too. She would use a cookie sheet and split it into four pieces. Brothers pepperoni, cheese, some veggies, homemade crust...yumyum.

We used to order Naples all the time when I lived in Windsor. Though a few years after I left in the 90's my friends said it changed ownership and the pizzas weren't that good anymore. Never heard of the other 2 though. I think there was another one they started ordering from and then it changed to the sucky side as well. Can't recall the name of it at the moment...

I remember as a child in Quebec- we would get a pizza and it always had a puff of dough in the middle of it. We used to fight over who got to eat it.

And I was always the one ninjaing it :P

So thats a qubec thing? I didnt know. But the Restaurent next to my mom's house still do that and the last time I ordered the puff was so fresh!!! Mmmmmmm

I tried the deep dish pizza in Chicago and I really like it with all the spinach in it !

This thread is making me hungry for Pizza tonight

you don't mind an opinion from the "other" US border, do you?

i love pizza.

i love food, for that matter...

if you like a thin, crisp crust that doesn't fill you up on one slice before you can enjoy a deliciously-simmered, perfectly-seasoned tomato sauce that's topped by succulently hand-made mozzarella melted to bubbly-goodness (perhaps topped with artisan-quality sausage and shaved jalapeño or just imported pepperoni), then- believe it or not, the BEST PIZZA i've had in at least 20 YEARS is from a shop near Fundadores and Aguas Calientes (in a strip mall, behind the Pemex-AM/PM) called "Cafe d'sole" in Tijuana.

won't be back for a while. but thanks for the memory.
