My wife heard the when Americans are in Canada, they all like their pizza better than any they get in Canada. My wife, the Canadian, likes US pizza better than Canada. I haven't had any in Canada, so I can't say. Although American pizza differs on the restaurant/style, etc.

Anyway, she'd like to know what people preferr, notably the Canadians. Thanks!

I personally prefer the pizza from Pizza Delight (a chain found in Atlantic Canada), pizza from Big Red's (found only in Nova Scotia), slices of donair pizza from the place next door to the museum in Mahone Bay, and slices from any of the places at the infamous "pizza Corner" in Halifax, NS.

I guess I like my Nova Scotian pizza. :P

Mazzio's makes an ok pizza, but nothing that makes me go "wow".

Pizza Delight ALL The way.. but.. I have to say I have had GREAT pizza here in the US.. Is there a US/CDN difference? I dunno.. I haven't noticed a crazy difference... had deep dish, CT style etc. it's all good; However I MISS garlic cheese fingers & Donair sauce.. back home they go together, you have garlic cheese fingers for an appetizer.. then you have the pizza.. it's like a religious experience.. a fully rounded meal.. and it just doesn't feel right here in the US just stuffing one's face only with pizza.. it's got no soul! :D

Most interesting. I honestly haven't noticed a significant difference, but then I think it must depend on who is making the pizza. There are good pizzas and bad pizzas in Canada and there are good pizzas and bad pizzas in the US. I also suspect that there is a lot to be said about individual preferences - deep dish, thin crust, all-dressed, extra cheese and sauce, etc. How can you really compare? Maybe it is just that I haven't eaten enough pizzas to notice - we generally make our own at home - and they are good!

We had a Pizza Delight here in Oakville for a time... it was soooo tasty, but now they're gone :(

Both Pizza Huts closed down as well, so now there's not a single pizza "sit-down restaurant" in this city anymore. Just take out places like Toppers, Dominos, Ginos, etc.

New Haven's pizza is almost all independent, Little Italy apizza or really good independent thin crust places. Needless to say, I'm spoiled, and the chain restaurants in Edmonton can't even come close. (East Side Mario's is probably the most ridiculous chain ever.)

I'd bet it probably varies regionally, though. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get a good pizza in the bigger cities.

depends if you're talkin' chain pizzas or actual Italian style pizzas.

Pizza Pizza is gross, as is Pizza Hut, Little Cesars, Domino's etc etc...its fast food, and mostly bland tasteless emptiness. Having worked for Domino's for several months here in the US, I think I know their pizza quite well :P And I haven't had any of it since the day I quit. We've ordered from Papa John's or Buck's since then. But, the last time we ordered Papa Johns we both got sick, so we won't eat there anymore either. Buck's is I think a western NC thing. They're ok, and better than Domino's IMO, but we know the employees there (a lot being former Domino's) and their not so clean cleaning habits. Its a small town...most who work in pizza will just get fired or quit one shop and move down the road to another. There are 14 pizza shops here  In a town of only 17,000!

Now, there are some Italian restaurants, pizzarias and deli/bakeries I know of in and around Toronto and Stouffville where I used to live where they have some awesome pizza. Stouffville pizza is very tasty, and when I'm there that's the only pizza I'll eat. And there are 4 or 5 pizzarias in town, but all the others are chains (Pizza Pizza, 2for1, etc) since the Italian bakery closed :(

I imagine the Italian neighbourhoods of NYC would have some good pizza, but having never been there, I dunno. I can only take Tony Danza's word for it. ;)

I'd go for "authentic" Italian over a fast food chain any day though. Either side of the border.

Enjoyed Pizza corner in halifax, the 1 good thing of goin gon course there while in the navy, lol and the great bars that stayed open til like 0300,lol Was a pizza place by the navy barracks, Venus Pizza, we ate there all the time. Would not be out of the ordinary either to get a knock on the door, and the delivery guy standing there with a pizza, even though we had not ordered one, just to be nice! Of course the owner also offered us steroids, but thats another story, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My husband (Canadian) and I rarely ever order pizza...my husband loves the McCain International pizzas especially the Sicilian...when we do order we order from a place called Gusto Pizza its a mom and pop owned place..pretty good, but all pizza in Canada seems overpriced in my opinion...

My favorite pizza place back home (Las Vegas) is called Papa Murphy's, its a take and bake pizza shop, great prices (they even send email coupons), great pizza (they are VERY generous with the toppings and the crust is so crispy)....my husband loves it too...

I dont find they put enough cheese on pizza here.

I also find that they put the cheese on the bottom of the pizza instead of the top.

I like Nova Scotia pizza much better.

I make alot of home made pizza's here. They are much better.
