i live in Maryland, and it will take approx 2 days to reach Dallas tx.

as you all know, 90 days rule.

Just curious as to why you didn't file online as majority of the people seem to do it online now. Were you not eligible to apply online?

Because I didn’t payed attention to online forums and uscis site much.

And I attended us citizenship classes in local county library and the teacher never mentioned anything about online filing and only discussed paper filing, but that was almost 1 year ago.

so I just wasted 14 dollars on shipping by paper application, which is always more risky than online filing.

we all make mistakes.

lets see what happens !

Hmm, well there should not be any problem in your application reaching USCIS as you have used tracked mail (Believe me, I have sent I-130 packet earlier with USPS first class mail without tracking and had no issues!)

The only thing is you had to spend some money and efforts on doing the paperwork whereas online filing is hassle free and lets you upload scanned copies of your supporting documents! Plus with online filing, you are into their system pretty quickly (Takes less than 48 hours for the online form to get processed after submission) and you see all your updates about biometrics pretty quickly!

Exactly.

i missed it.

should have been applied online.

anyways.

it has reached destination in night and will be on desk today.

so lets see how things go from now.

It seems you had sent your packet on a Monday. if you had applied online,  you would have your biometrics scheduled by Wednesday of the same week. I had applied online on a Thursday and I could view my biometrics letter a couple of days later in my online USCIS account!

6-8 months

wow

that’s long time

This vastly depends on your local USCIS office. Some people can do their interview in 2 months, some people it takes longer.

Citizenship Journey:

(Month 1)-   N-400 sent: 12/20/17

(Month 2)-   Fingerprints: 01/11/18

(Month 8)-   Interview: 07/30/18

(Month 9)-   Oath Ceremony: 08/23/18

Officially a U.S. Citizen!
