I haven’t got done anything yet because we are kind of waiting for the last paper work to arrive. But definitely will soon start.

Thank you so much for this info.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course, it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps, he includes the what, when and why to complete the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next, you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like-minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread is processing through another country they would be hard-pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Most people who have responded to an RFE can, however, expect further action by USCIS within about 60 days. If you don't receive a response or update within 94 days since USCIS originally sent you the RFE, it's a good idea to call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/contact-us/national-customer-service-center

1 (800) 375-5283 8:00 am

This is for USCIS

Option 1:

Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

Option 2:

Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 to continue to English

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number

Press your receipt number 922(WAC) then your numeric receipt number

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

Thank you for the swift and detailed informations. We will try our luck to follow up after 60th day. Hopefully we will find our luck.

Hi everyone! I can't even begin to express how helpful and anxiety reducing Visa Journey has been for us during this process.

I have a very specific question regarding my financial sponsorship of my fiance. I am currently finishing a PhD in liberal arts, have a $33,000 fellowship through August 2019 related to my field, and am finishing my dissertation this year. I have had steady income as employed as a T.A. by my University, as well as research fellowships in the past two years. I do not have guaranteed employment for next year yet, as currently applying for postdocs and jobs (you can imagine how fun that is on top of the visa process...). My fiance has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, a U.N. fellowship for NGO volunteer work, and has been working on his masters for the past couple years. His interview will be at the Amman consulate.

Do we need my parent's financial co-sponsorship? I am leaning towards yes but am hoping to get other's perspectives (or pointed towards a forum where can receive advice). Thanks in advance for your advice and input.

If you can show income that either matches or exceeds the poverty income levels (Google for guide) for your household then no co-sponsor is needed.

Update: Day 307 today.

After a meltdown just before, I logged into new site ( I typically wait until 9pm eastern time when offices close to check site for a possible movement update) I logged in just before like - Efff it let me see if any midday progress. And there it was Request for Evidence sent out Today Oct. 16th. Im an emotional mess I don’t know how to feel shocked of sudden urge to check and there it was. I am just anxious to get the literal letter in the mail. I would assume hopefully by Friday or Saturday the soonest?

Everyone please hang in there that is left waiting I feel your pain, the tears, the madness, the emotions. Everyone that is left that movement will come forward soon. Remain strong!

An RFE is better than no news after this amount of time. Once you send in the required info, you'll at least know they will approve within about 60 days, hopefully. Hang in there!

I still got jack from them. Waiting on the 4th outside of normal processing time inquiry and them to reply to the senator....

Thank you! Hopefully its an easy fix and this nightmare can soon be over.

No clue if it was just my time and officer made note for RFE, or if my senators contact to USCIS had any influence. (Even though I have not yet received a response from their office since they tried contacting USCIS)

Ugh goodluck! I think enough time has passed since you inquired and senator as well, I really do believe by the end of the week you’ll have your answer! I have a feeling someone may have started working on your case😌 I sure hope so atleast for the sake of your sanity🙏

They have the gold and they get to make the rules.

The USCIS has issued a Ruling, effective April 17, 2007, that gives adjudicators flexibility in determining the length of time a petitioner or applicant has to respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). Currently, the standard deadline for response to an RFE is twelve weeks (84 days). NOIDs must be responded to within thirty days. Under this regulation, the USCIS will determine how much time should be permitted in any given case, with maximum possible time being what is now the standard response deadline. That is, adjudicators will set deadlines for both RFEs and NOIDs that could be up to twelve weeks in case of RFEs or up to thirty days for NOIDs. No extensions of time are permitted.

Got a reply from the service request. This all they wrote.

The status of this service request is:

On October 12, 2018, you contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) about your I-129F because you believe your case is outside normal processing times.  Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Called Senator and they said they did not receive a reply yet. It has already been 20 days. After 10 more days they can call, etc.

Seems like I'm going to file a lawsuit on November 20th. Better start preparing.

Wow im so so sorry! Ugh god I was really hoping you would be over that security hump already 😔 Im just happy you did do all you can do - you checked off all the needed basics checklist to file the lawsuit.

It would be wonderful though if you can atleast get a RFE or Approval a month from now, when you plan to file instead.

Im trying to sprinkle some hope & positivity only because there is this 1 month gap from now until then, and no one really knows the actuality of how long background checks -> adjudication it really takes.  I pray you are near the end of checks and the adjudication is rapid. Alot can happen in a month, I hope you dont have to put in any more effort than you already have!

Hopefully, but I doubt anything is going to change. I actually found the e-mails of the Deputy Director of USCIS and the Director of the Service centers. Might try to hit them up if senator doesn't produce results. Threaten them with a lawsuit haha
