Thank you so much @Lucy&Jason I'll be looking at the thread waiting for everyone to be approved soon! This is my birthday week so I hope my wish for January to receive many approvals this week will come true!

Also just taking advantage of this post to say that at least for Italy there were dates available starting on the 5th of September so any Italian applicants can keep in mind that after Consulate receives you can get interviews in less than 2 weeks out.

I'm really happy for you;

unfortunately im at 225 days now without any news, they told us to wait other 30 days;

it's really sad because i'm from Italy too and i had pretty the same wedding date as you but our plans just skipped completely

Day 222. Called and RFE is on its way. I cannot wait to complete it and send it back. I also emailed my Senator yesterday for help with my case. I will keep everyone posted.

What do you think is your rfe?

I have absolutely no idea. There is NO way that it could be proof of relationship because I had photos from 6 vacations together complete with itineraries. The only thing I can think of was that I did not send a copy of the notary stamp from my divorce papers? I have everything else. I was so thorough. I was told 1 month ago that we passed background checks so it has to be something simple.

Yes they already changed the status on website. They emailed me Saturday evening that they already took action on our case. I guess we have the same adjudicator. We have the same received and rfe date. Hopefully monday we will already have the letter. What do you think your rfe is all about?

I'm guessing the letter of intent to marry. I've read about it after we already submitted our application. We just thought wedding plans are enough already. How about you?

Praying it’s just an easy one for us. I am thinking of IMBRA as our rfe. I was expecting that we will receive the mail today but Informed delivery doesnt show an incoming USCIS mail. How about you guys? Any expected day for your rfe to arrive? @kmza89 they generated our rfe the same day as far as i know coz they updated their system on 24th same as mine. Most likely also this week.

@Adam Zollinger have you prepared your needed documents?

What is IMBRA? I did not ask the date of issuance. I just called back to get it and Tier 1 told me "we don't see an RFE" so I am going to wait 103 minutes for a callback from Tier 2 so I can ask for more info. I have all information ready to go at a moments notice so I should be able to respond immediately.

First try shooting off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Tried to do this over the weekend and received the following response today:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman’s Office).

If you are trying to request assistance related to a problem with USCIS, we ask that you submit your request online.  If you have already submitted online but did not receive a confirmation email with your case number, the submission did not go through.  Please try again.

If you have not submitted Form DHS-7001, Case Assistance Form, online or made other arrangements with our office to file on paper, we will not respond to this email

Please note the Ombudsman’s Office is independent of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Our statutory mission is to assist individuals and employers who experience problems when filing applications or petitions with USCIS.  If you have a legal question, you should seek an experienced immigration legal service provider.  Please see below for a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

So @Greenbaumit seems like the "new" way to contact the Ombudsman is through this method: Case Assistance Form (DHS-7001).

I will do this, as well as contact my senator (have my letter ready) and hope it helps someone else!

Thanks,

We had very similar. Our rfe was generated on August 1. Tier 2 on many calls couldnt gice us a clear answer. One said it was on way, another said it was still their, another said it was waiting super approval another said they didnt know y it was still there. One even told me after 16 days u can request to have it faxed. I called my senator and 5 days later my senator called me saying they mailed it out. I called next day and asked USCIS to fax the rfe. 2 hours later I had it

Just want to share our experience so far. We are k1 January 16th filers. I called USCIS August 1st and was told that we had to wait until 7 months before we can inquire. So called them back August 16th. They said they ordered a rfe but it was not ready to be mailed. Mind you our status hasn't been updated on the website. Luckily we contacted our state senator 1 month prior. So I called the Senators office after talking to tier2. The senators office says they called USCIS and told them on the on August 17 that they had 1 week to comply or they were gonna request expedite on the case. Mind you  I called the USCIS everyday and chatted with  tier 2 every day for 6 days and each agent gave me a different answer. One said it was sent, another said it was ordered, another said they didn't know, another said it was waiting for supervisor approval. august 21st got a call from the senators office and they said the called USCIS and put request to expedite. They also said USCIS said they were send out rfe on that day. I called USCIS next day to confirm and tier 2 was not taking any more calls for day. So I called back on August 22nd and finally after waiting 222 minutes someone from tier 2 called back. I requested them to fax me the rfe and they did.  Turns out they needed xertifed copies of my criminal records that happened 29 years ago. The options were clear. Either I send for them and wait 6 weeks or I drive to Los Angeles 5 hours each way. And get them right then. I drove. I sent out the rfe on August 24. Hoping the senator expedite still is in affect and will hear answer soon. Now we are on day 220 with still no update on website. And if our state senator didn't help we would still be waiting for anything from the USCIS

I called the USCIS today for the first time today (NOA1 1/25), after submitting an online inquiry last Friday for being out of normal processing times. They reminded me that I had submitted the inquiry, and the message was that I should just have waited until Sept.15th, the reply date for the inquiry.

Honestly, after reading stories like this (and knowing human nature), I think the right approach is to go forward with all means available to push this forward. I know I have the absolute support of my fianceé, who has been "encouraging" me lately. 😀

I am going to send a letter to my senator and representative, as well as file a case with the Ombudsman and we'll see what happens.

Thanks!

Duane & Haney
