So in your opinion and based on what you previously posted, should we reach out preferably to the ombudsman and not the representative? Or is it a either/or situation.

I'm not sure where I read this, but I remember reading something about not contacting the ombudsman AND our representative. That we should only contact one of them. Do you know if this is true?

I think this is one of the "arguments" that can work for you either way. Flip a coin if you know what I mean. I have no dog in this fight because I never used either one. When we were doing our ROC process (10 year GC) we were almost 9 months beyond what was a "normal processing time" of 6 months. So the experience that I can address is InfoPass as we had avail that process twice. I'd say start with Ombudsman and then your Congressional Representative. But I go back to my original "speech" that this is a process and most times it plays itself out eventually.

Update on our case:  Last Aug. 10 we made the online inquiry and we have given a Service Request number thru Email. Just this evening we received this email response from USCIS.

I am feeling now a little at ease. I am just only hoping it will be an easy one to fix. :rolleyes:

Okay, fiancé just got off the phone from Tier 2. I was on iPad so could hear the conversation.

Fiancé explained we were outside normal processing times and seeing if there was an update.

Tier 2 said a decision has not been made. Service request was made and he will receive a notice in the mail in the next 15 days.

Fiancé asked what if it takes longer than 15 days.

Tier 2 said, “just wait.”

I’m just confused because normally people have been told 45 days and normally get emailed their request responses? So I’m confused and feel a little sick?

I think we have been told the same answer  the first time. Then it was 45 and then 30 again 😟

30-45days is only their standard answer. But truthfully they will respond as early as 15days or earlier than 30days.

@I.Kat my friend I am fervently praying for any movement about your case. How did it go for your online inquiry?

We actually just inquired via phone :( We got the reference number so I don't know if it would make any difference? My confusion about this process is growing every day... 😂

Okay, that puts me a little at ease. I just panicked. Because I hadn’t seen 15 days before and thought maybe that was code for something... with normal inquiry response being 30-45 days. Thanks x

If you did the inquiry online they will email you the Service Request Number.
