@Greenbaum you have any data or trends on current RFE turn around I have been trying to find with no avail....mine was aug 10, csc receiced and updated that case is now being processed on aug 20...just curious if god forbid it really is the 60 days they advised on RFE 😒😒😒😒

I don't really follow RFE's too closely as they are all over the board and when I hear something it's usually someone upset. So I try and avoid that controversy. Once one is received I can opine if I am familiar with the subject.

There is a spreadsheet from those in the past who have received RFE's, it makes for a good read.

After getting notified and receiving your NOA2 send an email to NVC asking for them to email both you and your fiancé if any updates occur. In the past they have replied when your case was received from USCIS, another when your case number has been assigned and when your case is being sent out to your Embassy without you having to make any further queries by phone. Here is where you send this information to:

Email address: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Subject: Your receipt #

Body: Petitioner's Complete Name Birthday ; Beneficiary's Complete Name Birthday

Or use the online form

:wow: It must be good news because it's in Russian, Larger Letters and BOLD. :jest:

Google says:

Call, call and call again.
If you do not call, you will always wait.
Today they called and received RFE.
Wait again, wait and wait

The best bet number of days now is back to 250ish days. Most likely extended a month from 5-7months to 5-8months processing time to some of us. Really a bunch of patience needed...

Oh but in this meantime you had a RFE sent to you right? Do you mind me asking what the RFE was about?

I'm at day 220 without any news at all 😔

We did yeah. They wanted more information about how we met. That delayed us by about 2 weeks.

I’m sorry you haven’t heard anything yet. I know how stressful and upsetting that is. I hope you hear soon 💜

I'm not sure but I think the petitioner carry's more weight with USCIS and the Ombudsman. I have seen some beneficiary's get refused "service" just because they are the beneficiary. Since the I-129f originates with the petitioner I think that is their reasoning.

So in your opinion and based on what you previously posted, should we reach out preferably to the ombudsman and not the representative? Or is it a either/or situation.

I'm not sure where I read this, but I remember reading something about not contacting the ombudsman AND our representative. That we should only contact one of them. Do you know if this is true?

I don't see why you couldn't contact both.  They're completely separate entities.  Your congressional representatives are charged with assisting you in matters between you and federal agencies, such as USCIS.   I say, take advantage of all of the resources available.  Best of luck!

It seems like 220++ days is the new normal for USCIS.

My fiance called them yesterday on 213 days and the representative didn't say nothing more than we already knew. That on july 19 they touched our case and it's still pending for review. She then asked him if he wanted to file and inquiry which can be done by email or by phone. My fiance said since now we were talking, he thought we could file it right away. She gave him a referral number and told him to wait for another 30 days.

Anyone has a clue why USCIS takes longer to review cases? I remember they also started implementing new site fully when they were doing january fillers. Are we a poster child to set an example or something?

I haven't checked VJ much these days. Seeing people after us got approved makes me so depressed. But I saw some of my VJ buddies are still waiting too @I.Kat, @Snuffles, @LuFlolady we really should celebrate together when this wait is finally over and our loved ones are finally state side!!!

Here’s to quick response from the inquiry! I know some people are lucky to get approved under 200 days, but yes, seems like 220 is the norm.

You betcha we’ll have the biggest celebration when we’re all on the other side!!
