Your RFE was not for not having two separate letters, it was because the letter you sent said, "I, Christina, am legally able and willing to marry Miguel, and I intend to do so within 90 days of his arrival into the U.S. using the K1 visa." and you both signed it.  The letter does not state, "We intend to marry each other."  Nowhere does Miguel state HIS intention to marry YOU.  I think that is the reason for the RFE.

i agree

I also agree with what your saying but I followed the template that I see every time I google one. It's the one I used. What you say makes sense and I understand why they would want another one. If he's the one coming, it should be him intending to marry me.

I remember Kyle & I reading RFE list here and checking how our packet can answer that RFE....

But thank God yours its a easy fix... So u will get you approval soon soo soon ! Sending good vibes to you!!! @Clecuona

I got a somewhat bad but mostly good news today. Jason spoke to tier 2 this afternoon and he said they sent out an RFE to him last Aug. 8, 2018(I am wondering when we can have that letter if they sent it out already). The tier 2 officer said he cant give us the details of what was the RFE all about. And that we should just wait for their letter for us to receive. But I suspect it’s the TOS of the dating site where Jason and I met. We weren’t able to include it because we dont know about IMBRA before. Nevertheless, i feel relieved hearing some update about our case.

@Greenbaum May I ask how we can know about our rfe by just asking for a fax of it? I have read you posted an info. before. Do you mind sharing it again to me? Thanks in advance.

Ok guys here’s my RFE. Intent to marry. I had sent this original letter wet signed by both of us and the only thing I can think of that is wrong is I put my name - the petitioner - instead of his name the beneficiary. On the RFE it’s asking for HIS intent to marry me. Even though I feel the letter I sent with his signature and name was intent enough. I called a Tier 2 and am waiting on a call back.

Your right!

yes, then, I think you are correct in your assumption-- that name needed to be changed. These are considered formal legal documents right now so, a simple mistake of not changing the name is the type of stuff thats going to get the document sent back.

Your right! BUT

There is one more option:

@Clecuona  No need to call USCIS as the explicitly outlined in their letter what they need. The letter of intent can be written as one letter with both of you stating that you intend to marry (see the example) within 90 days of POE entry or you each can write your own letters and sign them. I have included an example here https://www.k1approved.com/k1-fiance-visa-guide/statement-of-intent-to-marry/ for the two individual letters.

When you write a single letter it should be the same statement with your name and the same statement with his name. Here is that example.

I don't see why 2 letter of intents are needed? I followed the VisaJourney guide listed on here and only included 1 with both names and signatures. I used the template provided here.

Search visa journey , you will find RFE for one letter only, must be separate letters

Call USCIS. Tell them you would like a copy of the fax copy of the RFE because you are on a deadline that can’t be extended. A tier 2 is the only one that has access to those systems. They can also read it to you and let you know what they are requesting. Don't take no for an answer. Hang up and call back for a different tier 2.

Did you guys meet on Cherry Blossoms? That is usually the one that pops up for Filipino's. I didn't meet my wife on a dating site but a chat room and we didn't have a problems with the IMBRA issues I guess because it was a chat room and not a site that you can view pictures and bios and then make the connection.  It will be simple to respond to the RFE and it won't take long afterwards to see your file move again to approval.

We used the one letter only and we were approved. It says the same thing and with both signatures you are signing the document which still becomes binding. Maybe something has changed.

We met on Christian Dating for Free. We only included screenshots of our convo from there but not the TOS. Thanks greenbaum. Will definitely tell jason your advice.

You should not have any problem with replying with the requirements they will ask for. I am surprised that they would second guess a Christian Dating sight. I know that most of the popular websites, like the one I mentioned, have been used by many and they still get an RFE from time to time. I hope you didn't take offense that I had assumed you used Cherry Blossoms. My bad.
