There were a LOT of angry people between May - October 2017 that were less than impressed with USCIS and their phone call etiquette.

I feel for them, though. They can't tell you anything more than the website tells them. That much is fact. They're not withholding information, they just don't have access to it.

It's like a glorified call center. You think that those people are the ones stamping your paperwork, but they're just making sure the phones get answered and that if someone DOES have an emergency, they get to the right person.

True, I will just add they do have access to your file to see if an approval notice has been mailed out PRIOR to it being updated on the website. And just like any call center you have some who seem anxious to help and some who could care less

My fiance called just now, told them the same answer as always. And if he wished he can inquire by thursday next week. I wished he could be more persistant, try to talk to a tier 2, but he says he doesnt want to bother them and pissed them off. Ugghh I wish its me who could call. I would be very nice but try harder to get info. Sucks another weekend without any news. Feel very sad 😞

Relax. I like your fiancé a lot. He's a man's man. Realistic men are great to have around. They make you understand that stomping your feet is not going to get you anymore ahead then where you are now. Spend some quality time away from the phone and let NVC do their job.

We inquired three days ago (on our 215) over a phone and were told that we would be getting something in mail by August 22nd or earlier. I don’t know what that “something” is, it might be a letter saying that they need more time. We also weren’t given a reference number everybody’s talking about so it kinda raises some doubts 😂 But well, we shall see... “Trust the system, trust the system...” 🙈😊

Everyone repeat after I.Kat ... “Trust the system, trust the system...” :thumbs:

For those who used the birth certificate or anyone who might know this. Did you guys obtain a new copy of your birth to from the town clerk or vital records place and sent that in OR did you guys just photocopy your birth certificate and sent in a photocopy? Im just preparing myself already here lol

With the initial submission of the I-129f USCIS only requires copies. Originals of those documents are required at the interview. Bring the original and on copy for the interview. They may look at the O but you want it back. They will be happy with a copy once the are satisfied with the O.

For all those who are out of processing time, have you guys filed and inquire? I know they tell you to wait 45 days for an  answer, but if so anyone after this has received approval faster? It feels like a scam, hahaha like they just want to gain more and more time so it doesnt feel that filling inquire makes much difference and you still have to wait till they want.

It's been my experience that paper enquires through the ombudsmen or your senator seems to speed things up, but I wouldn't say it's all the fast for the amount of work you put into it.  Just wait a bit. Trust the process, as it does work.

Hi everyone,

First time talking on here, but I've been following.

Our receipt date was January 30 or 31 2018 (can't remember the exact day)

A weird thing happened in May though. I got an email that said this:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR ALIEN FIANCÉ(E)

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

We mailed your document for your Form I129F, PETITION FOR ALIEN FIANCÉ(E), Receipt Number WAC1890129943. If you do not receive your document by June 8, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But I never received a document besides the 3-4 page receipt letter.
And when I tried to call they just said nothing was mailed out.
Should we be worried?
Best,
Jason
Why people keep on saying old and new website (I assume it used to be an old website and now there's a new one)? Does it make any difference? if so what is the difference? Thanks.
There was an old website, and now a new website
The difference tends to be that one of them updates before the other- sometimes one updates and the other doesn't at all!
This only matters if you are those people that need to know right away- an approval will be on your doorsteps no matter what day the app updates
And FYI, am in AOS and my I-129F never updated past "case was received" so yea- it is what it is.
Good riddance- USCIS...
Should you be worried? yes and no
This happened back in August 2017. One individual was told by the app that an RFE was mailed out but the people on the phone she called said nothing was mailed. Took about 3 months for the mess to be cleared up and yes, an RFE was indeed mailed to her later on.
If you have been getting normal mail from USCIS, and you got nothing, then it IS possible that nothing was mailed.
Check your receipt on the two different websites and see if they both say the same thing.
If they do, I suggest you call them again and see if you can get a different person that knows what's up
Also, have you suggested going to the link in the notification to get the request resent like they said?
Oh, that I didn't know. I'll make sure take an original and a copy of everything for the interview then.
But do you believe that I can also reply to the RFE (if I get one, but most certainly I will) with a photocopy or would they require the original? The instructions of form I-129F say that it can be a photocopy, but idk if things change when it's an RFE.
But thanks for the info about the interview :)
What is the old website?
The only one I've checked is USCIS.gov
